Parking sensors

Post by stuartx » Wed Aug 22, 2012 2:27 pm

Any thoughts on parking sensor faults?

Permanent fault for parking fault
P0037 sensor for parking LR-G203

P0159 Intermittent sensor for parking, LR Ctr. - G204 Open or short to ground.

New sensors? or wiring?

Almost certainly the sensors. Amar posted up some interesting links for cheap sensors recently.

Common problem for the sensors to be FUBAR. Amar posted a link to a German guy recently that was selling them at a good price.

I need to order some myself at some point too

Yep, I'll report back on how they turn out. You can buy them from a seller called E-Bacho on eBay. The part numbers are in my post from a few days ago. I've changed parking sensors on my S8 in the past, it's not too hard but getting a pro to do these when he fits my reverse cam.

I'll see how I get on checking them all with a Volt meter and see which one or ones are out, not the end of the world.

Anyone had problems with the high level brake light going?

Rear sensors look a byatch to change if you have bigger than baby hands.

I know on the allroad it is a bumper off job.
If you listen to the sensors you will here them clicking when they work.
