Dunc
Did you get the impression from Grizz that it had to be Hotchkiss if deciding on which to purchase as an upgrade from standard, or if there was a tangible improvement even if you had H+R's already ?

Cheers

If Amar keeps going on like an old woman about them then I might just give a set a whirl for the hell of it! That or I could just ask Grizz if there is any point when compared to the H&R's that I already have as I would expect he would know having sold both now ;)
Footlong - Don't blame me if they aren't up to expectations. I like them, but I cannot comment on how much better they are than the H&R ones. If I were you, I would find out how much the H&R stiffen the car by vs the Hotchkis. Of course, next time you're at MRC, come meet me, I am 20 minutes away and you can drive my car.

Dunc - When you drive Panda's car, remeber, it is on Bridgestones so be careful.

Panda - I'll get in touch about the RNS E bluetooth unit tomorrow.

H&R A6 quattro ARB Spec

Front: 32mm

Rear: 22mm

Hotchkis ARB RS 6 Spec

Front 35mm
Rear 24mm

There is only a measly 2-3mm in them, but I am sure the B7 A4/S4 guys upgrade their ARBs to RS4 ones which are only 2-3mm bigger and they notice a big difference?

Thing is her car isn't on billie's so that will kind of change the feel anyway. I'm getting some hotchkis so it won't really matter trying someone else's.
Big thing is, i don't see anyway possible that you got your's for £220 all in!!!!

I've done some searching and as has been said by Grizz and others, the H&R are only listed as A6. The Hotchkis are listed as RS6 and these are what Grizzle fits.
Looking at Amars find on the size's, the H&R will make a big diffrence over oem but just not as much as the Hotchkis. MRC fit the H&R to the RS6 and they also know what the are doing so i think it boils down to - which brand do you want. Me, i want the Hotchkis for the same reason i went for billie's, there are better. If you are going to change thing's on the car why not try and just get the best.

Yeah, would probably have gone Hotchkiss if choosing an upgrade from standard, purely because they seem more model specific. As it is, I'm not sure that going from H+R to Hotchkiss will be as easy to justify. We'll see.

Re. the other;
Tyre wise, Bridgestone - seem fine
Head unit, Alpine aftermarket -winning
Aerial, Not so stubby stubby - yet to do !

$420 according to XE.com is £267, I didn't really check the cost much the £220 must have been an estimate but I do get especially good rates from my work and didn't need to pay to bring them back on the flight, also add $30 for delivery to your hotel. Order them the day you get there or before you leave, I paid extra for express delivery as ordered them late in the trip and there was a chance when I thought they weren't going to turn up in time.

Spoke to MRC today as I thought what the hell, might as well remove my H&R bars and slap a set of Hotchkiss on for a laugh while up there next week to see if there is any difference. They have said that they really don't think there will be any noticable difference between the 2 whatsoever.

Saved me a few hundred quid then.
