UK's lowest mileage RS4 B7?
UK's lowest mileage RS4 B7?
As per title; http://www.pistonheads.com/SALES/4099311.htm
Crazy price IMHO. Can't see anyone paying that money for a B7 when you could get a B8 brand new for 54k. What do you think its worth, 30-32k?

An average of 8 miles a week over 6 years cannot be good news for that engine, to keep in a museum maybe mid thirties at a push?

Re: UK's lowest mileage RS4 B7?
Is this car on sale or return as it says "the current owner purchased it in Nov 2011"?
He says £45k, you say in the low thirties (and I agree), that means either a <beep> load of profit at the asking price or a big loss for the seller (suspect the former).
They were selling a Pug 205 Rallye for £8k recently (might have been in Evo).
I hope he gets all the tossers I have had to endure when selling mine (which went today to the first viewer after 5 months)

Agree with it being a waste, think how much that has cost in tax, insurance, servicing and mot's for the enjoyment of 2k miles

Re: UK's highest mileage RS4 B7?
£14000 DK, was going to PM you but why bother?
Sold to a garage oop north, doubt I'd have got £14k trade if asking price was the £15k it was for a while (it went up due to expenditure below).
Cost me £12800
£110 glove box lid
£30 MOT
£240 aux rads (easier with headlights out as I later realised during the detango process, doh!)
£10 coolant
£180 bumper paint
£10 detango bulbs
£40 tyre foam
£360 for 2 x 4 wheel refurbs (I have never seen dark grey wheels look so bad on any car - silver is just right on that car)
3 parking sensors £230 ish (+ painting £TBA)
I suppose there was some VAT to come off those so roughly break even
Drove it on 3 occasions in the 5 months, never really wanted to add miles or renew the tax, or leave the 911 in the garage at weekends;
1 to drop owner home to Staffordshire (3 hrs)
1 Sunday blat with wife (she likes em)
And finally to Combe for track day (spectating only - idea was for people to see how straight it was, did anyone?) during which it reminded me how good it was (the RS4 generally and also this example), passenger was impressed too - torrential rain on way didn't touch it.
Barely drove any differently to my old 38k Avant (which was pretty much perfect) which is impressive for the mileage of any car let alone a relatively highly strung super car but I'm not in a rush to get another neither to sell on nor to keep, £29k at under 4 years old/35k miles was much better value than £25k at 6 years old/40k miles as they are today. Plus the unsavoury enquiries I had to deal with do not bode well for the demographic make up of future RS4 owners.
However Chris Harris's B8 video seemed to brainwash me to get a B5 RS4 again so I did last week

Re: UK's lowest mileage RS4 B7?
Personally I don't like the alcantara. Also, I don't like the black optics with sprint blue and prefer the brushed aluminium as opposed to the carbon inserts - but only on sprint blue. Why not just buy an RS5 with the 45k? Or the B8 RS4 - I can understand people holding these cars for posterity but not for profit - selling a low mileage B7 RS4 now is a bad call - wait until normally aspirated V8's have been banned and then sell, ie. around 2020. I hate to think what 'not being used' has done to the engine. Saw a Lexus ISF today - I'm tempted but I remember someone on here changing their B7 for one and not being entirely happy. I'd use the 45k for an Aston V8 or a GTR. (Or keep the 45k for a year and pick up a late model 5.2 V8 Gallardo.)
I'm also thinking of a B5 RS4 because of Chris' vid! (aswell as the B7!)

Re: UK's lowest mileage RS4 B7?
£45k buys a decent R8 today
B7 felt quicker than 996 C4S and B5 feels quicker than both (put together
)
However plenty need £10k worth of work
I'd forgotten how quick they are, mines an MRC stage 1 with Milltek, 100 plus is mentalTimDogg wrote:I'm also thinking of a B5 RS4 because of Chris' vid! (aswell as the B7!)
