Adaptive headlights?

Hi there,

My new 1-yr old RS3 is supposed to have adaptive headlights. I was parked opposite a large window tonight when I turned on the power and lights. They did the normal up-down motion of Xenon lights but no side-to-side motion; I though adaptive lights were supposed to do this on start-up?

Can anyone tell how to confirm that the car does indeed have adaptive lights? Am I just mistaken?

In my ex TT RS there was just up-down motion.

Not seen side to side on RS3 or any other car.

I have the adaptive lights and on startup they only do the up down sweep. They are fantastic though on full beams once moving...

Got the adaptive headlights on my RS4 - on startup the lights move up and down and then side to side. At first it was quite spooky at night watching the lights pointing round the corner.

Yeah mine has them also, they take a while to get used to at first but it's one of the things i miss now when driving the wifes car at night...

So I don't need to be worried I just need to go out in the dark and check the old fashioned way?

Went out after dark last night (braving the floods!) and the lights were working spot-on.
