I'm glad it's not just me then, I thought someone had been nicking V-Power out of the tank whilst I was asleep!

When the car starts from cold the mpg must be really low, the range drops right down, then creeps back up ads the engine warms, settles down for a bit, then slowly down again....

Bump for this.

When I set off for home (about 40 miles away from where I picked the car up) the DIS was showing 95 miles to empty.

Steady drive back with a bit of hard acceleration off a few roundabouts but mainly cruise control on motorway and dual carriageway.

Pull into the garage, DIS is still showing 95 miles to empty and the needle hasn't moved at all.

Sounds like they're not to be relied on for any kind of accuracy.

It does kind of depend on how the car was driven before mate, but they aren't super acurate.
previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.
Audi S3, S4 V8 avant.
Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.

Now - Empty garage

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there!

It said 0 miles to empty when I fired it up this morning. I filled it up and it only took 61 litres (the needle went straight to full when I started the engine again).

Is this worse than normal or par for the course?

Reviving an old thread here..

It's done it a couple of times but not really badly, until this morning.

I put it to bed with 1/4 of a tank, started it this morning and it's right on the bottom, zilch.. I drove about 20 miles like that and started questioning my memory of how much it had in it so decided to put 25 quid of crappy supermarket fuel to keep me going. Guage went up just above the red so i thought, huh, it really must have been quite low. Carry on and it seems to be dropping at about the usual rate, but there's no petrol stations around, so i eco drive as best i can to the nearest station just as the needle stops moving. I put another 20 quid in because i'm fairly close to home and Momentum 99 goodness.... then the guage darts up to half full, of rubbish 95! Argh!!!

I wander how easy it is to get to the sender.

That sounds like fairly normal behaviour for a 6 IMO ;)

As Shop mentioned on the previous page, there's 2 senders and it sounds like one of them is playing silly buggers!
