I did indeed. 200 would get my vote then, but could be a handful. Mate had one and was fun but a little loose and wobbly as standard.

My tuppence would be an MX5 already turbo'd, or an E36 M3.

That TVR engined car would be immense, but would also I'm sure cost a bomb to maintain, like all TVRs...

Turbo'd MX-5 are hard to come by, I'd rather it supercharged. They are superb little cars and so inconspicuous compared to the MR2. Shame they're so massively ghey.

But I've been looking into Renault Sport Meganes as a bit of a hot hatch to chuck around…

V tunable.

Cup chassis bits make it a great handling piece of kit.

You can buy an awful lot of Megane for £7000. It's also usable everyday if that's your bag.

Totally agree although they don't have the best reputation for reliability, I had a Megane as a company car, there was always something wrong with it.

Don't know about reliability. I think an R26R will have less electrical gadgets anyway, so this should dodge some bullets.

Condor24 has one I seem to remember along with his Porsches and his C5 - I'm sure he rates it quite highly...

Build quality is better on the Renaultsport Meganes than normal ones as they are built in a different factory - Dieppe in France
