Mine did arrive but it's 2000 odd miles from the car so I have to wait till I visit home.
Any tips for removing the old one? I don't like to go near the steering wheel with anything too sharp

I was so eager to do it, I just popped it out with the corner of a credit card instead of opening the tool box. I would have thought that the flat head screwdriver is the way to go or even your misses' fingernail will do it. Frankly, it is a piece of p...

Question is: would you get upset if I used your missus fingernail?Mrfickle wrote:I would have thought that the flat head screwdriver is the way to go or even your misses' fingernail will do it...

Now that the subject of replacement cosmetics has been raised, does anyone know if it's possible to replace the temp buttons? I hope it's not just mine that are fecked? And yes - it winds me up

Nope you're not alonewraffers wrote:I hope it's not just mine that are fecked?

Kind of embarrassing really for a car of this price range when it was new that the buttons wear off after a few years. None of my volvo's ever had trim peeling off or buttons becoming unreadable.

My dad's C70 is only 1 year old, hasn't done many miles and the velvety rubberised coating is coming off the grab handles even worse than on the Audi. It looks a proper mess. I can't believe they still haven't got this right. I've told him to take it back under warranty.
My aircon buttons are fine. I think it depends on how often you change the temp and whether you use your nail or not.

Ah right, the "Ford" generation. Never had any of those. Last one I had was the previous model S60, superb interior quality ('06). Everything they built with Ford parts afterwards was pretty crappy, they even ditched the 5-cylinder engine, bastards. My dad has the S80 built on Ford parts and it's pretty mediocre quality for the price.Shoppinit wrote:My dad's C70 is only 1 year old
I briefly drove a GM saab 9-3 turbo, the trim also came off that if you so much as looked at it.
