can you set up an excel spreadsheet
col 1 rpm
col 2 calculated mass air flow from rpm, displacement and an air density using temp, humid, atm P ~ the same as the following vagcom run
col 3 actual vagcom measure mass air flow
col 4 = col 3 / col 4 in %

I have this at home, want to compare

edit: just did it using saki's data from this post, now to figure out how to post it

on a serious note
is the throttle open 100% <5000 rpm in 4th gear?
if so Saki, can you run some 4th gear 2.5 to 5.5k runs in 4th (to compare torque with and without the throttle limited) without the forum having to come up with bail ;)

it be interesting to see some 3-8k runs with the intake flaps opened at various rpm's
stock ~5.5k
try it at 2k
4k
etc.
just to see what it does to the torque output

Car still isnt right :(

Very strange, when in neutral, foot off accelerator and still moving, its revs 1200rpm then settles down once I stop.....

Not uncommon - I've had cars do this.
It can be related to emissions as the moving rules are different.
Not sure if the RS does it but mine isn't standard mapping.

Mine's standard. I'll have a go at replicating that tomorrow.

Anyone know if it could be clutch switch related?

Played around today. I can get the 1200rpm rise if...
- I'm rolling in very slow moving traffic in too high a gear, such that the engine rpm is being pushed towards the stall point
- and then I use the clutch to disengage the gear completely.
The engine comes up to 1200, stays there for a few seconds, then drops back down to the usual idle rpm.

That's probably of no use whatsoever but hey.

This "clutch depressed/neutral gear and consequent raised revs that settle down after a few seconds" thing has been happening to my car of late and I'm pretty sure it never used to do that.
I've never used the cruise control, but Wil try that to see if it works or not.
