Yeah but now you'll see glimpses Robert Paulson spliced in, a humming bird couldn't catch Shoppinit at work.

Might bore some but inform others so, I went to see a client today in Shamley Green or Summat so was soming back home through Guildford when I remembered Bannings Vehicle Enhancements in Guildford so popped in to see them about fitting my HID kit and to look at some head units. The looked at the kit and the car and estimated 1.5-2 hours (£60/ph labour) to do the work, as long as no headlight warning-related errors came up that they would have to work around with resisistors, which I told them wouldn't be the case. Details about Bannings are here - http://www.banningsonline.com/ian_bannings.html

Provisionally booked the work for this Friday, confirming tomorrow morning. I have been sad and have just got back from driving to the middle of nowhere to take some 'before' shots for reference for you lot and will do exactly the same of course from the exact same spot so you can see the difference for yourselves, shat camera permitting.

Side note. I have no idea how the people packing the kits up know exactly what bulb they have provided as there are no markings on the bulbs at all or on the box. Guesssing there has to be something in the colour of the bulb holder or the surrounding glass or summat that gives it away.

Might slip and get a new head unit installed at the same time but the new Kenwoods with DAB built in aka the Holy Grail to me are coming out in the next month or so, thinking I will have to hold on. Besides, now that I have finally finished processing this quarter's VAT, I know the amount is going to be crippling, not to mention Corporation Tax due too, because paying a load only 2 months ago doesn't seem to be enough for the lovely people at HMRC....... Anyway :)

Ok, HID details are up: http://forum.rs246.com/viewtopic.php?f= ... 95#p508395

Disappointed to be honest but that is my opinion and I was spoiled by the lighting on one of my other cars that blew this away. That's life.

Love this 'skimmed discs' thread that discusses everything but, what shall we discuss next, did anyone panic buy petrol? I didn't as there is no planned strike date and they would give notice, but I did worry that all the panick buyers would finish of all the fuel :(
It was chaos here, the whole town ran out of diesel apparently and it took a friend an hour to fill up.

The station I was at ran out as I was trying to fill up. Managed to put 6 liters in before the pump sputtered to a halt. Ridiculous.

Fairly calm up here in turnipshire, fortunately both motors were brimmed before all this bollocks started. There is only a few more days as a billion litres is around the difference between most cars 1/3 to 1/1 full and they have almost sold that.

I would have been pissed off it I was filling the '6 - who knows what gunk is lurking around at the bottom of their tanks... This was a diesel rental that I had and I swear that it ran rough afterwards.

A diesel running rough, how can you tell? Hang on, it's a rental, why would you care?

Didn't care. And don't. I love my rentals. They are like nasty hos that you you do the things you wouldn't dare do with your wife. ;) Hypothetically, of course... I have mastered my reverse kangaroo technique with rentals. My record is getting the rear wheels about 1m off the ground (difficult to do precise measurements when doing this...) Can't do it on this one, it's got a stupid electric handbrake. Whoever thought those were a good idea should have their scrotum sandpapered and immersed in salt and vinegar.

If I see a tanker (under usual petrol times) I will try and pop back the next day so the gunk has time to settle down to the bottom

Seems patchy. Picked up £75 worth of Momentum this morning about 6.30 without any problem - place was busier than usual for a morning, but certainly not bad (queue was basically 1 car per pump). Local Total place was busy but not queueing whn I passed about 9.30.

If DIS says 20 miles I reckon you are good for at least 50! It's hopelessly pessimistic!
