If I had a 3 spoke I would be looking to unload it for a MFSW. Takes all sorts :)

It is a hateful thing, sorry Shop. I am so happy I've found a low mileage three spoke. Finding a three spoke wasn't a problem, it was finding one with low mileage that was the hard bit.

Will your hands rips, tear and callous if you used a higher mileage wheel?

I didn’t want it to look out of place if I ever came to sell the car, the higher mileage steering wheels were noticeably more worn (and shiny) then my lower mileage one and as I would expect a premium for a low mileage car, it wouldn’t be fair to expect a higher mileage component on the car – especially on something that they would touch, feel and see everyday, of course, it would all come down to how anal ( :) ) the potential purchaser was. But the wear on the interior will now remain consistent. Another reason being, I've not owned a low mileage car before, and I have it in my head the steering wheel on mine feels like a brand new RS6 would have done. So I get to make believe I am driving it out of quattro GmbH in 2004 when it rolled off the production line.

Amar,

make sure you talk us through how it goes when you fit it please! Mines squeeking like Biatch and needs lube but I want a guinea pig to remove the front cover first :)

Mev, I was just going to ask MRC to fit it when it goes in for its stage two conversion. I know its easy enough but I'd rather know it was all hooked up (in particualr the airbag) right. Shop has removed his wheel a few times and I'm sure he did a write up, if not I will find you one from the A8 forum.

Amar, you need to learn when I'm taking the pish... which to be honest, is almost 100% of the time.

All I got was you're going to lube up a guinea pig and pop out it's 'front cover' while you squeak like a biatch.

I've been on here long enough to know that Bam, but I enjoyed typing up my 'little' speech. :P

I'd keep the multifunction wheel if i were you as when you go to sell your car it's an option that is listed against your car and in the front of the service book. I'm with Shop on the multifunction wheel i like it although it could do with a bit more girth :bigwave:

I agree, a potentially anal purchaser will want to know why a part listed as present is absent..sorry amar but thems the facts, its like buying an rs6 expecting a tiptronic and getting a manual with a clutch .. :biggrin3:

70% of people wouldn't even notice, the other 30% will be thankful I had replaced it with the three spoke. I'd rather the steering wheel wasn't around... Would suit a A6 TDI but even most of them have the three spoke sports...
