RS6 engine in a B7 will be a backwards step, a pre 2002 design and you will gain a timing belt which will need changing every 40k miles/4years at £1,100/1200 each time. It is probably heavier too, and an RS6 C5 engine will only really give you 550 BHP as it is, it needs work to get it upto the same BHP as the TTS 600 BHP + league, mightbe more torquey though, I would definelty go with the supercharger anyway.

C5 rs6 engine built with the suitable bottom end turbos and the manual box conversion plus all the body cutting that would need to be done to make it fit would cost you double a supercharger kit, I looked into it and it's not viable! Ooohh and they tried it in America and it failed miserably they scrapped the project half way through

I ran over 700nms with nitrous on the previous supercharger with no issues and I drove the car hard. Keep watching out for my car it's being pushed a little further over the next few weeks

timing belt is no problem maintenance wise. Many guys spend that on carbon cleans every 12-18 months. Both cars have their limitations.

However that engine won't fit in an RS4 engine bay. The reason we have chains crammed up against the firewall...and the reason our bore spacing is 5.5 mm is because the engine needed to be very short front to back in order to fit in the 8E chassis. The RS6 engine unfortunately won't fit without a major build.

Never mind tuning/fuelling and being a trailblazer of sorts.

There's one of those transplants happening in America right now...at a 'top level shop'...and it was featured in EuroTuner I think. That was 8 months ago...and it's not running yet. Guy has been without his Rs6 and RS4 the whole time.

So TTS gets another vote lol
