Such a Shame
Re: Such a Shame
I believe its purely aural ...
They do spend a lot on making cars sound and feel right .. you every noticed everything that opens in the cockpit in a Audi is "sprung" so it "gently" opens / closes

Would have thought it was obvious
4x4 572bhp and near on 500ftlb on a manual gearbox and clutch with 2050kg +
The clutch wouldnt last 2 mins

Re: Such a Shame
IIRC torque is limited going into the box at lower revs, so why would the manual version be any different? I think the B7 has a similar feature, although obviously not as heavy nor as muscular.adamgt wrote:Would have thought it was obvious

No matter where you go, there you are.
Re: Such a Shame
MTM told me the box is strong, the limiting factor is the half/drive shafts rated at 1000Nm.
So I stopped at 925Nm

Re: Such a Shame
i couldnt understand how you could really want a manual on such a big heavy 4wd car that has heavy steering and a lot of mass to hurl about, better to keep both hands on the wheel. ok, if the car was lighter and more nimble it probably would feel better to drive, but in its current state i dont really see how it could be preferable. with this car u need to get your braking and corner entry speed sorted so u can get the thing turned and floor it out of the bends. point and squirt style.
Quattro in all seasons for Ass Kickin reasons.
Re: Such a Shame
I only said it because the new M5 is offered in manual Stateside. They're different cars though, RWD can be adjustable mid-corner. The C6 isn't known for it's variety of cornering slip angles. To go fast in the '6 it's as you say, set it all up before the corner.
Good point well made Freaky.
