Twin BMC CDA (Carbon Dynamic Airbox), well, an oval variation of CDA I guess. Not sure about that design but I had one for my XJR and the flowrate was extremely good considering that the filtration was very good too..

Sorry, to be precise, I had the CDA, which was a fairly larger single cylndrical design.

Wouldn't surprise me as I am really not sure about those oval boxes. The Jag one was big, about 12" long by about 7.5" diameter. The engine layout/space available in these just doesn't lend itself to aftermarket induction kits well, so far.

I have never heard of the OE airbox being restrictive on the C5. Maybe when you start going to stupid mods like 700+hp. Seems like something people do misguidedly, or for aesthetic reasons (even though they are invariably hideous - although the one above doesn't look too bad).

It might have looked alright before the magpie owner started pasting badges and Stickers all over it.

I wonder if it's got lateral badges, too :)

stock airbox is restrictive.

It is hard to design something better that fits in. We had a customer do his own air filter intake and it flowed more on the mafs so it did help.

The manual RS6 is for sale - if you want anymore info send me an email. We took lots of pics and videos. As for a "how to" on doing the manual, i have told anyone that has asked, but we have only done 1 in this country and it is unique so putting a price on just doing the bare minimum on a manual is hard. The company that did the box, the one that did the starter motor, the one that did the manifolds, and the one the did the heads have all gone out of business so we don't have a source for off the shelf parts. I do have flywheels but that is about the only custom part.

Doug, would people on standard turbos see any improvement from a freer flowing airbox? Those just running a custom map, for example?

we have not dynoed one with modded airbox - but i am sure higher flowing but keeping intakes at ambient through good shielding would be better. The turbos are good for 580 but you won't dyno any at that. We will dyno an RS6 engine in a ultima soon so we can see what the actual engine dynos not going through the slushbox.
