Ad Paid Apps on Android and Iphone

Looks like they can get into all your private information that is on your phone.

All platforms have many apps that share data. This is not an Android issue.
Apple is just as bad (if not worse in some instances).
Microsoft have been doing it for years as has your ISP and all the websites that download cookies to you 10 year old PC.
I think yesterdays Sunday Times, may have dome a big "expose" on it too.
It's been in the press a lot lately, but it's nothing new.

It just gets a lot worse if you use ANY social networking and/or Google products.

There's many point of view... from "It's Big Brother, let's run to the hills".. to.... "so what, who cares if Facebook kmows I bought a Costa Coffee in Henley".

Well I think giving permission for an app to display adverts is not the same as giving permission for someone other than the app provider to download your address book. Its like finding your plumber going through your address book at home just because you let him into the house.

Not acceptable in any way shape or form.

Only way around it is to stop using computers. Period.
