Re: Skimmed discs
I got the non CAN bus 55W from hids4u with their normal ballast size. They are cable tied to the metal clips for the time being. If you order a set I found a promo code that gave around 25% off.

Re: Skimmed discs
Confused. what does this involve exactly? Does it involve tearing out the existing main/full beam lamps? I would love better night lights. I had what I called bunny dazzlers on my last scoob. The big ass floodlights on the front which I then fitted the most powerful bulbs I could get my hands on, beefed up the wiring and the fusing. Down a straight you could see forever, absolute daylight and I have never had a car that had even a third of the brightness on full beam. Miss them soooo much.

Dude, we are talking about LED number plate lights amongst other things. We are beyond reasonable thresholds of boredom. Bring it on, this thread is trashed anyway.

Re: Skimmed discs
In a nut shell... remove halogen bulb, plug in bulb connector to ballast lead, fit hid bulb in, mount ballast. A small hole is needed in the back of the black cover.
On my very first car (a 1.0 Metro) I fitted two 100W bulbs and a pair of 55W spots. The poor little alternator really struggled with that and a bunch of sub amps.

jeseus ringo, we're not related are we?? on my first car(mg metro) had two sets of the biggest halfords spotlights, two sets of fogs, and then a monstrous incar set up, with a pioneer 21" sub cut into the back seat, 4 kenwood amps, in a car which didn't even lock!!

I used to use monster Cibié spots on my cars when doing 12 car rallies. Brilliant for night driving and burning other's drivers retinas to a crisp.

Re: Skimmed discs
LOL, if you had a fast Ford in between that and the RS that would be too similar. Mine was the opposite end of the spectrum, a clubman. I can live with my Max Power shame (just).

Re: Skimmed discs
You need to be carefull with HIDs chaps. The new MOT rules come in around April, so you might need to find yourself a friendly MOT tester
On the original subject: It'd be good to know what the minimum thickness of discs is too. I've keep wondering why do you need to replace the whole disc when they are worn/warped. Surely they are 2 piece dics with an alloy central rotor that can be kept and bolt on a new disc????

Re: Skimmed discs
The minimum thickness is stamped on the disk.
Min 32mm for the fronts 20mm for the rears.
