Saying <beep> are the you what?
No matter where you go, there you are.
Re: confirmed
Shame - not a big enough step for me to change.
Already have 450bhp+ and thats at a lower RPM...
Not a massive fan of DSG but some do work well... others don't.
But adding another 200kg's of weight is just crazy - never realised the RS5 was that lardy.

Re: confirmed
was gonna spec up a rs5 to see the final cost but... they've removed the RS5 from the audi configurator???
Re: confirmed
You certainly notice its got to be revved more to get results,s tronic is awesome in the 5 but what you gain with that you more than lose in its poor dynamics,i really wasnt comfortable getting it near the same speed through certain bends that i can in the 4.Its a really nice free revving engine but you gotta feed those rpms! It looks good if similar to the pics but failing still in the other 2 main areas to justify a change.

for the facelift updatesadsgreen wrote:was gonna spec up a rs5 to see the final cost but... they've removed the RS5 from the audi configurator???
as for that blue photoshop above...it has a facelift rear, but pre facelift front
Re: confirmed
As much as I like the RS5 rims, I hope they dont put them on the new RS4, they should be new wheels that make the car special. Whats the chances of that?
Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar
Re: confirmed
I doubt it buts let's hope we are suprised
Audi parts bin galore
The days of special RS are over. The C6 was the last IMO

Re: confirmed
Special for 4 months until Audi put them on every 'Black' or special edition model in their range compounded when aftermarket reps come available...... I certainly wouldn't pay extra for them.sonny wrote:As much as I like the RS5 rims, I hope they dont put them on the new RS4, they should be new wheels that make the car special. i noticed this, its not been a big seller, they dump money like crazy as welladsgreen wrote:was gonna spec up a rs5 to see the final cost but... they've removed the RS5 from the audi configurator???
The Hedgehog, creator of RS4.org, back in of the RS fold yet again, third time lucky

Re: confirmed
Reps are already available, unless theyve sorted the dynamics i can see the new RS4 being a flop like the RS5,the market for the RS4 is the biggest of all the RSs so i hope theyve put more effort in to get it better than our current cars.As it stands i would take a drop in power and get into a twitchy when pushed car!Nooooooooooooo i wont!
Re: confirmed
The bit thats going to hurt it is that the (according to audi figures) RS5 is no faster than the RS3 and the TT-RS is alot quicker.
So the new RS4 will be basically the same as the RS5 plus a little extra weight (up high) so I can't see it being anything other than matching the RS5's time.
Throw the current M3 into the ring and it's matching a car thats about 4 years older than it...
Thats what I loved about the B7 RS4 was it seemed to come from nowhere and completely knocked the established competition out of the way. I can't be reluctantly feel that this has been lost and that Audi may be playing catch up again. The new M3 is due soon and if anything like the new M5 I feel it may make the B8 Rs4 look a bit... well... "normal".
If the B8 RS4 had been release in 2010 then things would be different as it would fit in alongside the M3 as a contender... now with years extra development it now looks like its playing catch up.
Just read that the R8 is staying with the same engines too (with slight bump in power like the Rs5)... Audi really getting their money out of this lump!

Re: confirmed
The natural aspirated screaming high revving V8 probably suits the R8 better than a lower revving turbocharged unit.
One of the simplest differences between the RS4 (B7) and RS5 to give extra power was the dual air intake system. Surely this would be an easy mod in the vast engine bay of the R8 - or maybe the R8 already has this dual set up?

R8 already has dual air feed.
Personally the biggest change was the rev limit - adding 250 rpm will generally give you another 20-30 bhp at this kind of power. The cylinder heads are apparently better to but given the peak torque figures are identical it suggest that rpm hike is the deciding factor.
