Get an RS6 quick before they go the same way! There are already next to no Sprint Blue ones...
Only 180 RS2's came to the UK, not many will remain. Sprint Blue RS6's are super rare, Amar on AudiSRS has a Sprint Blue RS6 Plus which is gorgeous. The B5 RS4 is also very rare, hard to find examples with lowish miles.
I'm on here too, blimey, maybe I should keep mine then. I am about to hit 40k miles this month, hit 39k last week, I've done £500 a month in fuel since I started using it. Time to get a second car, bubble wrap my sprint one and let it appreciate? :bigblink:
I have just read through your RS6 plus thread on SRS, wow, had not been on SRS for ages so decided to read it again. Your 21 and have an RS6 plus, i doff my cap to you sir, i am 18, turn 19 in march and want to get an RS6 C5 by around 23/24, i keep reading so many stories on them of owners saying they are superb yet others say they did not like it and it cost a fortune and the gearbox is not the most reliable. I think i know my heart will take over and touch wood i will own one. I need to get along to an Audi meet.

I bought the car when I was 20, but had to wait another two months untill I turned 21 to be able to get insurance. I was 15 when I opened my RS246 account, and plan to have a C6 RS6 on my 23/4 birthday. I always knew I was going to have an RS 6 by the time I was 21. I was so sure of it, not a doubt in my mind, and I let no dogy gearboxes or astronmical running cost posts put me off, never in my dreams did I think I would own a plus - nevermind a sprint blue one with only 36k! I hit the blooming jackpot when I got offered this, and even though it was more then I was initally looking to spend, I'm glad I did.

I want all three too, out of the three. I would go for the B5 RS 4 probably, more modern then the RS 2 and more involving then the RS 6. I nearly bought a B5 RS 4 last week or the week before in Imola yellow - I would have had this in addition to the plus, sadly I was too late! It is now being broken, it was mint.

What!!! a Imola B5 RS4 is being broken? has it had a crash? I remember reading there was only 8 Imola B5 RS4's that came to the UK, rare as rocking horse poo. The only thing which sways me more to the B5 RS4 or RS2 is they are a manual. What is the auto like in the RS6 in terms of gear changes? quick? smooth? i would imagine the auto is best suited to an RS6 for a car of it's size and mass.

Yeah, the auto box suits the RS6 IMO, it's smooth and I've never found it to be slow. There was nothing wrong with the Imola RS 4, it was just more valuable in parts then as a whole, it was mint. You can buy the shell on eBay, it is being sold by Grizz from Unit 20.

If there was noting wrong with the car then regardless of what it is worth in parts, it is a sin to strip a perfect B5 Imola RS4; in fact IMO it is nearly as bad as the tool in Performance VW magazine this month who has the horrid Orange B5 RS4 and does not take responsibility of ruining a Nogaro Blue B5.

That's just business though pal, and the shell/V5 are being sold so someone can make her live again if they really want to. I saw a brief glimpse of that orange B5, thought it looked quite good but I hear what your saying. Could you post the article here?

RS6 prices are nuts - so much car for the money, and incredible to think you can get an RS6 for less than a good RS2!!

But I'd constantly live in fear of the bills. I'm no stranger to splashing out on maintenance (my old GTA cost me £5k/year in maintenance/upgrades) but the RS6 is a step too far even for my poor wallet - I looked at some example bills on PH and it explains why they are so cheap these days!

I hope they do bring it back to it's former glory. 4K is cheap for the shell, fit the engine and source the interior, cost around 6k?

I dont have the issue, i just flicked through it in Sainsbury's, could have cried when he said the base car was a Noggy. :nogarors4:

I think there are a lot of genuine cars out there, it is just as soon as one person writes a horror story, more people believe it and write their own and i bet in some cases, express their experience as though it was much worse than it actually was. I would only consider a C5 RS6 which had FSH and examine it with a fine tooth come and make sure the belts etc... had been changed at the correct intervals, oh and go for the Audi warranty, 1k for a 3 year i think (Amar will confirm), gives you that piece of mind in case something horrible happens.

Audi warranty is £2.7k for one year IIRC.

Good grief, a friend of mine said it was 1k, clearly did not have a clue what he was on about.

LOL - You remind me of me. You will have an RS soon enough. I want the same cars as you the B4 RS2, B5 RS4 and the C5 RS6, but also a red sport quattro. I've been an Audi nut from age 3, even Audi couldn't ignore my fandom. I was VIP at the first Audi driving experience in 2002/3 when I was only 12 years old, they collected me from my house and I got to go in the original le mans R8, and a few C5 RS 6s as they had their arses ragged around Silverstone by pro drivers, they sent me all sorts of goodies too, B5 RS 4 pewters, you name it. I'm not as much of a fan now as I used to be, mainly because once I tried BMW, I realised that Audi were lagging behind big time in the handling department. You can see I still have a soft spot for the older RS Audis I dreamt of when I was younger though, but the current Audi range does nothing for me.

I think we are both on the same level, i am not really a huge fan of the current Audi range apart from the R8 which is a work of art. You can keep the RS3, nearly 50k for an A3 is mental, i am not keen on the RS5 and the new S4 is very dull. The last RS model i fell in love with was the C6 RS6, just a superb looking thing and that engine, wow. My dad on the other hand cant understand why i like C5 RS6's, B5 RS4's and the RS2, he says why would you pay around 14k for a 10 year old car, he considers cars like that old, i cant convince him regardless of what i think.

You were clearly an Audi nut back in the day, i have grown up with BMW, parents have had 10 of them but i am not at all interested in the V8 M3 or the new M5; the only M cars i like are the M3 CSL and the original M3.

As for the Quattro, if i won the lotto i would be adding a SWB Quattro to the fleet, superb car, with so much heritage and racing pedigree it is hard not to love or become attached to.

Regarding costs, yep i am like you then, i dont like to spend extravigantly unless it is something i really need or have lusted after, i get a lot of pride of seeing my money in the savings account and increasing each month. I start a business management apprenticeship next week so i will be saving a little more for my first car, fancy a Panda 100HP or an Audi A2 with sport look, 17 inch rims and Imola Yellow paint. Will have to see what the insurers think, once that is over, the saving begins for an RS Audi.
