I ask the question because there might be some "countermeasures" that could be quite legally carried out to prevent them reading the number.......

If you have a garmin gps then you can use the average speed function to have blasts and slow bits to bring the average back down. Maybe that explains the people flashing by you.

So do these things ONLY do average? They can't do you for shooting past just one at 90?

dk, didn't you order an RS3? Or am I dreaming?

i was tempted at factory ordering an RS 3 with 15% discount ... but after seeing them in the flesh they bore the hell out of me for a wkend car

if i needed a daily, it would be a no brainer

I'd have one just for the engine. TTRS is tempting, too. That noise... :drink:

Someone needs to transplant one of those into an RS2.

Also the RS2 is already a leg end. Why bother?

Because it would still be a 5pot but not one that weighs more than the earth... besides, why do anything? Because you can.
I love the idea of older cars with up-to-date drive-train and running gear.

True. I fancy a '66 mustang recent running gear. Guy I know did a Camaro like that:

It's all modern in there, just the shell and body are from the original car. Don't be fooled by the air filter, it's a brand new injection engine.

What I would like to do is put the running gear from an RS3 into a Golf II cab.

Somebody put a 3.3 litre Porsche 911 turbo engine in a Mk1 Golf a long time ago, bet that was fun.
