Natural Leather

Post by Ryan_Pestell » Mon Jan 23, 2012 10:56 am

Looking at going to town on the interior on plus at the weekend.

got some liquid leather and cleaner, but wondering what colour the leather should actually be, currently its a very mottled greeny/brown, but i've seen cleaned and treated versions that a boardering on black.

i presume as its natural leather its not died? so regardless of how much cleaning i do im not going to bleach it?

i.e here its black?

Swissvax Leather Cleaner Forte was used to thoroughly clean all that grime and old product residue and bring the leather back to life:

The leather was then fed with Raceglaze Leather Balm by bare hands to thoroughly work it in.

I think you should leave it like that. If you ask me there aren't enough interiors that are the colour of elephant scrotum.

Seriously, though, I do like the natural leather look. I think you should just clean once it with Liquid Leather G12 then condition it with G11 and see how it looks.

Interested in seeing how you get on here planning to mine this weekend. Im edging twowards the Glptone liquid leather stuff. My concern is that in some areas my leather seams quite stained from a little rain water etc and im not sure this stuff will get it back to its original look. Ive had a little go previous with Autoglym stuff and that didnt work.

Does anyone actually buy that "The leather was then fed with Raceglaze Leather Balm by bare hands to thoroughly work it in."...the cu*t in the pic's clearly got a pair of plastic gloves on!!

Their seats boys...a quick blooter with Liquid leather and they'll come up good as new...yes it's 9-30 in Baku and the last of the duty free vino's been tanned!!

Im told the old damp hot towel from the microwave is a good idea this time of year to warm up and open the pores and then scrub gently with a soft nail brush, leave for a few mins then wipe off and buff then apply the conditioner... Jesus ... my missus is going to expect the same all over treatment after all this!!

is that liquid leather cleaner
and
liquid leather conditioner

happy to give anything a go as long as it works...

I have tan interior and I want to get it as good as new. I've been looking at leather restoration work and have considered having it all redone
I mainly need to fix my tan leather stearing wheel. Audi quoted me £1027 + vat to remake a new one

so I spoke to a ukhide distributer (basically they paint/treat and supply the hide onto the car manufacturers etc) and they recommended this guy for repairing/repainting/treating car leather / or sofas etc. http://www.benchmarkleather.co.uk/text/porsche01.html
I gave him a call about my wheel, and suggested about £120 to put it right. I had a similar conversation like you expect from grizz - experienced and factual. Which is what I wanted to hear. He's just the wrong end of the country for me...

I like the idea of it looking like those before and after photos, be it mine is no where near as bad, but its bad enough for my eyes.
