They do look black in the pics and the parking sensor light is green, mine's orange.

The drivers side, which is obviously the main culprit can be stripped and new leather fitted for approx £150 to £200.

I also agree steering wheel and buckets will both usually help resale and value but both can be added at a later date.
Off topic sorry op

Jules can you pm me your upholstery contact assuming they are vaguely nearish to London. I am keen to give the car a birthday before summer!

The spec and option list was pretty constant, only thing I can think of is that a running change from amber front indicators to clear was made in about November 2006 - so some 2007 models have amber indicators and some have clear.

Some good points BUT add the DRC to that list! Make sure you check this thoroughly by looking at the shocks for excessive leaking - a fine misting seems to be acceptable. If there are any problems then Audi have extended the warranty as a good will gesture but a few are struggling to get this resolved if they don't have FASH.
Quick question on this, as I am also actively on the hunt for an RS4, details of what I am after are here
http://forum.rs246.com/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=94628

For DRC, did Audi often only replace the front suspension and if I am looking at a car with only the front replaced recently (under goodwill), how exposed am I with regard to rear DRC failure? Is there a big risk/cost in replacing the rear?

Cheers.

It really depends on the car and how well the dealer has fiited and presurrised the system with the new components in situ. I had mine fronts replaced at 30 something k miles and now on 90k miles and 3 years later and rears are still fine touch wood. And I'm not driving Miss Daisy.

Clear indicators was a running change introduced on cars built after November 2006. ETKA has the VIN number when the change happened.
