Why you should be wary of Pagids
This is what kills your disks. Another knobbly bit, but hidden inside the pad material this time. There are about 6 per pads and they groove the disk even though there is at least 8mm of pad left. If you are still running the OEM Pagids, then you need to keep an eye on your disks.

Why do that? Is this an issue on the C6 RS OEM pads too?

I haven't heard anything about it. The C6 pads are Brembo, not Pagid though so hopefully Brembo have got more sense.

Ben, you are killing me here................ I have all my new discs sitting here for me to poss fit on Saturday and I have a set of Pagid pads that did approx 100 miles before I won them for a whopping £23 on Ebay! On top of every other part of that car that is financially deep filling my bunghole currently, I not have to be cautious of that? I knew about the 6 metal studs in the pads but thought they were far deeper in to the pads than that! I'm hazarding a guess here Mr Footlong...but...I reckon visits to this site have probably aged you 10 years in the last month!!...What the fu*k were you thinking when bidding on the Pagids...with a supposed 100miles on them...dude £23 pads??

Before flaming me darling , they really are in very, very good nick, barely had anything taken off them whatsoever and look immaculate. This was when I was going to stick with the fairly shot sold front discs on there before I went all out on new discs all round. I put in a snipe bid on them for a laugh and got them. They are the proper pagid pads so what's the problem with a cheeky bid? As for aging me, while I am well used to pouring thousands after thousands in to my cars to make them perfect or lots faster, this 'German Quality Engineering' really has me puzzled. No idea why I wanted an RS6 after watching Audi after Audi pack up on my parents with 1 stupid problem after another but as a man you can't help what you lust after and I have always wanted to make babies with the RS6. Didn't realise it would be the one doing all the humping! You can slate Jap crap but they are far more bulletproof in my experience and my Jag was sublime mechanically compared to these rolling mental breakdowns

I edited the original post to say that I took the gamble on them before I decided to get brand new discs all round BUT, they are in such good nick that I was seriously contemplating trying them out.
I know many tight scots too mate

I too come from the jap world of performance motors... 200SX 's and Supras...and like you thought getting into a super build quality Tutonic super car was a safe bet...Aye aye aye...how wrong was I...one thing about the jap cars is the basics never go wrong it's the upgrades that cost the cash...with these mothers keeping them running as factory is like a second morgage...it's still the best car I've owned though....my missus would probably disagree...

I hate you all and these forum seeds of doubt lol..... Looking in to what I can get that will do the job and won't have the stud problems of the Pagids. Not up for forking out on the XP10 pads just yet though with the MRC costs looming...

I think the pagids are quite good. Just sell them on eBay when you've done a few thousand miles. Got £23 for my last set. Sucka!

I am normally all for humour but not getting what the problem is. My discs are shot all round by my standards but still ok for now. The front pads are shot and I didn't see the point in getting expensive pads for shot discs when I would just be changing the discs shortly down the line. Took a cheeky snipe bid on some pagids with sod all miles on them as the guy didn't like the feel he got from them.
They turned up and other than a very light touch of brake dust on them, they look brand new. Since then I blew a load of cash on all new discs all round but was still considering using these when I fit them as they are still near as damnit brand new and sitting in a box currently. It's not called being cheap, it called a locigal OPTION
