One year with my RS4...

Post by wolfgang » Fri Nov 11, 2011 11:38 am

...and still loving it! Best car i've ever owned and probably ever likely to own.

Another big thanks to all the members on here who patiently answered my 1,000,000+ questions a year ago. It was all worth it...for me! I did a few upgrades pretty much as soon as I got the car (Milltek, MRC stage 2 remap, MRC airfilter, new spark plugs, OEM Bluetooth, Alpine KCE452i + Kufatec iPod integration). The car has been lovingly cared for by Camberley Audi and i've had the usual warranty work done (oil cooler pipes and leaking rad). The ownership experience has been phenomenal - pretty much stress-free thanks to outstanding service by Camberley Audi. The car looks fantastic: understated and a magnet for petrolheads who realise what it actually is. Very few cars tailgate me! Fewer try to race me. I get let out of junctions and can blip the throttle to amuse myself when stuck in nose-to-tail traffic. It's a car where I regularly take the long route to my destination.

Sure, it's very expensive (for me) to run, but what price happiness?

I've only done just over 6,000 miles over the last year but I can pretty much remember every mile. 'Nuff said.

Here's to the next year of heart-stopping, adrenaline-filled, breathtaking miles.

Thanks to this forum and i'll have a toast on behalf of you all this weekend...

Nice one Wolfgang

I use a few forums but can honestly say i have never been on a forum about a certain model that all talk
about how much they love and enjoy driving their car.

I cant wait to start enjoying mine some more

Good to hear, i think a lot of us feel the same way. I have never owned a car that i want to keep as much as this one.

Jules is right, as forums go this is by far and away the best. :beerchug:

Agreed on all counts. Right now I can't see any reason why I would willingly change it. Particularly after the recent work from MRC ;-)

That's great to hear. Thanks Wolfgang for your '1,000,000+' questions! I didn't answer any of them as I was also shiny new in RS4 ownership, but I probably read all of them, learning loads along the way.

Agree 100% too.

I've had my RS4 since July 2006, and still love driving it. Driven over 500 miles in the last 2 days and even though I've got a stinking cold I still spent most of the time smiling!

No other car has kept me smiling after more than 3 months of ownership, so nearly 5 1/2 years is exceptional.

One year with my RS4...

Good to see you are enjoying the car, iv owned My car for +4 years and can't think what I would replace or with that ticks all the boxes that the RS does. Iv been driving a 2011 bluemotion Passat all week and must say is shocking! Give me a 5 year old RS any day ;)

+4 years onwership in mine also and as much as I think of changing, I can't see what for other than something much much more expensive and impractical.

Immense car and the one I have kept longest in 20 years of driving.

Well, I've had mine for 1 day, and would have to agree! Went out for a drive today, for no reason whatsoever. Can't think of many cars (reasonably priced) that you'd have that desire with. I'm a quiet lurker on these forums, but would also like to thank everyone who's ever posted.

Great car, no, fantastic car, fantastic forum. Bravo. :jump_clap:

Sitting at home waiting for the next day to get in and drive. Oh, got to drive the mother-in-law to a party tonight :nodder:

I'm sure I'll have lots of Q's (after searching of course :-) )

Great to see a few on here with long term ownership. Shows how godd these cars are.

I've not had mine for as long as a year yet but remember my first drive in it. Simply astounding. The engine start up for me sealed the deal long before the blistering acceleration. I came from a Clio V6 which everyone started at wherever you went but with the RS only the real people in the know see it for what it is which is for the better I think.

I let me father have a go in mine and he has had fast Cosworths and stuff throughout the years and he was amazed. He summed it up by saying 'Its a fast car that was built properly to go fast and not a car just to go fast in'.

As for the forum, when I first came on here I never knew anything about the RS4. I just knew I wanted one. I never even why earlier ones had orange indicator lenses, but the knowledge from people on here is fantastic. I find myself looking on here before even contemplating calling up Audi. Think we have spoiled ourselves now in what to get next. Not an easy decision.

Thank you Audi RS4 :beerchug:

Couldn't agree with you more!

Had mine 11 months now and still loving it, I usually get bored in 6 months but there isn't a single car on the road I would swap mine for.

Milltek being fitted on Wednesday, Stage-2, cold air feed etc going to be done at MRC in the new year.

Love the car, love these forums :-)

12 months in for me too and agree wit wolfgang! At the moment rralistically nothing to change for - to be honest I think the only way to improve the car is to add a supercharger!
