Retrofit RS4 buckets.... Please Help info needed

Post by otterolly » Tue Nov 08, 2011 1:38 pm

Hi guys

I have retrofitted some buckets in place of the comfort recaro's and I am having a small issue.

When fitting the passenger side seat I noticed that there was no black plug on the wiring loom that plugs into the floor ?? I believe that this is the plug for the pressure plate for the seatbelt warning chime, but when I fitted the drivers side seat the black plug was present ??
Upon turing the car on I get an airbag warning light ? The seatbelt pressure plate works correctly on the drivers side ie. the light comes on until the seatbelt is inserted, but no light on when sitting in the passenger side ???
I am going to run Vag Com on wednesday night to see what the fault code says but any info in the mean time would be great

Should the black plug be present on the passenger side seat ?

thanks in advance

That will be for the side airbags, buckets seats don't have it. You should have fitted a by-pass plug to the air bag socket. Recaro do one for after market buckets. You may need Vag Com to reset air bag warning light

These are the resistors used by Recaro http://forum.rs246.com/download/file.ph ... &mode=view

Oh forgot to mention, no black plug on the passenger seat is correct. If both seats have the small yellow plugs, the resistor is already fitted within the wiring loom of the seat, so no additional resistors required.
Just reprogram the airbag module as stated in the link above and job done.

Thanks mutantfatcat, the seats have the yellow airbag plugs fitted to both seats so looks like all I need to do is hook it up to Vag Com ;)
