Just because you take up two spaces or park badly doesnt give anyone the right to damage your car, It also doesnt make it ok to think some dick will damage it, nor does it serve you right!

However you park people still damage cars, Ive sat in my works car more than enough times (parked correctly) when usually old people or mothers with kids smash their car doors into the side of your car! And then look at you like you've asked to crap in their mouths because you dare to question their behavior!

I doubt any of you guys would find it acceptable or say serves you right if the same damage happened parked correctly or on your driveway as tbh theres no difference....... Damage is damage!

Yes taking two spaces when busy is selfish, i always park miles out the way on an end space, or will take two spaces when not busy....... Hell i'll even use parent and child as lets face it kids are fat these days and need the exercise and should walk further!!!!

Ive spent £100's on having dents/scuffs removed from my car's over the years all because someone causes damage when its parked up.

We've all seen badly parked cars.........cars double parked so no one can pass, cars parked so close to yours you cant get into it etc etc, so why not just damage those aswell?

We all know the <beep> that happens out there.

The only place your car is safe is in your own garage.

If you use the car as a daily driver then the odd dint or scuff is inevitable.
Ok, it's not on if somebody opens a door onto your P&J, but it happens.
Taking two spaces is not going to solve anything, it does make people think :knob:

If the car is just for weekends etc, then really you know yourself that it shouldn't be in a supermarket car park.
If by chance you have to be there, park as far away as possible in the back corner. You will usually find all the other careful owners out there too.

There shouldnt be people tearing strips off others here for making a mistake. However, if you make the mistake, take it on the chin and move on. Don't just chuck your teddy in the corner and leave.

I'm sure there's a rant to be had in here... oh, here it is, I found it!

Macdaddy wrote:Just because you take up two spaces or park badly doesnt give anyone the right to damage your car
Agreed. It would make them no different to the <beep> parking like a <beep>.
Macdaddy wrote:It also doesnt make it ok to think some dick will damage it, nor does it serve you right!
Errrm, yes it does! You've parked like a <beep>, you've brought it on yourself. That's why there are two lines to park in between, that's why the car park states one car per parking space. If you do not comply with these rules and make up your own rules, pay the consequences and have a big bowl of STFU.

How about I apply your useless parking logic to the act of drink driving? You have a few drinks, you're 'mostly' over the limit BUT because it's quiet and the roads aren't busy, you decide to drive home because you don't want to leave your P&J alone and unprotected. During your drive home, a fat kid, who is forced to walk from the far end of a parking lot because a lone <beep> in his P&J took up a parent/child parking space. However, the fat kid is also lazy AND stupid (a lethal combination), a light bulb pops above his thick skull so now he's using a shopping trolley to free-wheel his fat, stupid and lazy ass down a hill onto the highstreet. When doing so, he flies out in front of your car and you mow him flat with the accompaniment of lovely V8 soundtrack. Now because he's fat, his whale of an ass destroys your car. Also, his fatness causes medical complications and he buys the fat farm. So, now all of the fat fingers are pointing at you, you're over the limit, DUI, you're done. You do not pass GO! You do not collect insurance. You go straight to jail. You do not retain your ass virginity. You now have AIDS.
Now, you can blame whomever you want and you can make all of the justifications you need to. You can blame the parents of the fat kid for letting him get lazy, fat and stupid. You can blame society because you don't trust them enough to leave your P&J too far from home, unattended. Can you see the similarities? Can you see the principle? It may be to an extreme end but you've only got yourself to blame and you should fully expect to be taken down a peg and even to be mocked for the stupidity. It's no different when CHOOSING to park across two parking spaces.

Yes it's disgusting. Yes the general public are a foul, horrible and immoral group. Yes, most people park their car, scoop one half of their brain out and stow it in the glovebox. They then proceed to use less than 1% of the half remaining brain to exit their vehicle as haphazardly as possible only to roam the streets and shopping centres buying useless <beep> they don't need.
Welcome to the human condition, please do not join them, please do not make it worse, have some pride, stiff upper lip and all that.
Macdaddy wrote:I doubt any of you guys would find it acceptable or say serves you right if the same damage happened parked correctly or on your driveway as tbh theres no difference....... Damage is damage!
^ Seriously, what point are you making there? How does this relate to double space parking, you've just explained malicious damage. Irrelevant.
Macdaddy wrote:Yes taking two spaces when busy is selfish, i always park miles out the way on an end space....
Taking two spaces is selfish fullstop. If you can't park between the lines, then how about you just park on the street and walk or just don't take your car into a car park? It's obvious you're better than the rest of us or maybe your ego is too big, or maybe your car is so amazing and it’s just too good? Then leave it at home. If your car is big, then park carefully, it's obvious when an effort is made. Don't make yourself a target. If you're in a hurry, park slowly get it right and then walk quickly. I just can't see how there's an excuse for <beep> parking... excepted maybe childbirth and bankrobbery.
Macdaddy wrote:…or will take two spaces when not busy...
Your definition of busy could look like match day in Calcutter, India! Why not just be a consistent ar*ehole and park like that every time? I know why, because you know there will be a backlash, you know it will draw attention to your car and you secretly know how self-important it makes you look. Ergo, you don't have the balls, it's easier to get away with when it's quiet, people will be less inclined to make comments, pass judgement and point fingers. But most of all, you know it's wrong and your internal justifications are too weak for you to make it a habit.
If you can park in a single space when it’s busy, you can park in a single space when it’s quiet. If EVERYONE starts parking by your rules, it’d be like a virus, it would halve the capacity of all car parks when quiet and it's just a matter of time until every dickhead starts to push the meaning of quiet. We don't need this <beep>, it's a moronic 'solution'.
Macdaddy wrote:Hell i'll even use parent and child as lets face it kids are fat these days and need the exercise and should walk further!!!!
^ This. Is amazing.
So, the fat kid again… You take a parent child parking space and then a bint with a Eurobox full of snotty noses and sticky hands is forced to park in a standard space where all of the doors are flung open into the surrounding cars. You’re a special type of ar*ehole. It seems you don’t mind actually causing indirect damage to other people’s cars when you force stupid families into other parts of the car park. Thanks for making the buttrape experience of public parking just that little bit less lubricated and more painful. What are you going to do next, park in the handicap spaces?
Macdaddy wrote:Ive spent £100's on having dents/scuffs removed from my car's over the years all because someone causes damage when its parked up.
So your logic is “I’m special, I’ve paid money to remove other people’s parking indiscretions so I deserve an extra car space”. Man up, it’s bad luck, stop crying about it and don’t make the parking warzone worse.
Macdaddy wrote:We've all seen badly parked cars.........cars double parked so no one can pass, cars parked so close to yours you cant get into it etc etc, so why not just damage those aswell?
Because that would be stooping down to their level, retain some integrity. Vent if you have to, bitch and moan, express your anger but is making up your own rules or breaking the law really helping?
No matter where you go, there you are.

I've not even bothered to read that crap, so I'll continue to park a across two spaces and ignore the act of criminal damage?

I don't understand your syntax, are you asking a question? If you don't want the risk of damage, park elsewhere and walk, you'd have got that if you'd bothered to read that crap. Guess what, car park dings and scraps, happen.... IN CAR PARKS.

Doesn't make it ok tho! That's my point, people on this thread having a pop because basically he wants to take care of his car. Maybe people don't give a toss about their car and marks, that's upto them !

It's my opinion on a public forum designed for opinion. Yours or anyone else's opinions are no more important than every other individual and wont change my views or how I park just like my opinions won't change how others decide to park.

Just seems your condoning that it's ok to commit damage to another persons property because in your view they've parked badly.

Ok Ok,

Please can we have some order on here!

This is by far and away the best Audi Forum on the web, very informative and very helpful.
If we carry on like this, nobody will want to post for fear of getting ripped to bits.

We all have our own opinions, some will be right some will be wrong.

Thanks,

Hilary Clinton. X

Yes it's all opinion, we're all very clear on that but I seemed to have over estimated you, apologies Mr. Daddy, it's clear that the concept of being a part of society is COMPLETELY lost on you. You may carry on doing what you were doing, you're very special. My only recommendation is that you lift your knuckles from the ground to stave off skin loss.

Based on your logic cars get damaged no matter how they have been parked, so, I shall try a different angle and spell this out to you and just for you.
- Causing damage to someone else's property is wrong and illegal.
- If you park like a <beep> then you deserve EVERYTHING you get, because you gave up the right to park with defensibility. i.e. If damage to your car occurs when parked correctly, you have integrity. If damage to your car occurs when parked incorrectly, you have zero integrity. AKA you've not a leg to stand on.
No matter where you go, there you are.

But the issue here is MacDaddy that yours and the OP's attitude contributes to the problem. Someone parks over two spaces, most people would concur that is not the right thing to do as parking spaces are clearly marked> Are you one of the ones thsat thinks the M4 bus lane should be specifically convererted into a lane for their own personal use? if so, pay for it! You made a bold assumption that no one else cares about their cars which most I suspect on here would disagree with, but there are other options as previously mentioned to minimise the damage caused. bam bam isn't condoning it, but I suspect suggesting joe public take a dim view of you and others parking over two spaces and are malicious enough to damage your car as a consequence of it.

It's not right, it's not moral but that is what it is. I have said before in a post on this thread such blatant disregard for others under the guise of 'I want to protect my pride and joy' is just elitism and just not necessary and something that annoys me. All about the self importance of me and you therefore are no better than those who do the damage in terms of your contribution to the moral standards of society.

Maybe but I've not had my car damaged since I park like I do, yet before it was every couple of months even tho I do limited miles. I don't park across two spaces right outside tescos door, yet I would at the far end of the car park . Tbh we take her company car if we are going to public car parks but I'm just making my point.
