Clutch Going..?

Hi,

I have looked through some earlier posts and just wanted to double check a couple of issues with my rs.

After fast acceleration through 2nd-4th gears the clutch stays down on occasions and takes a second to pop back up - is this the release pipe or the clutch on its way out

The car is still under warranty with Audi as I bought it in June - would this problem be covered no matter if just the pipe or indeed the clutch - any advice on what to say/do?

Also are they obliged to do any upgrades - sw0090 in particular or do I have to mention that it Kangaroos when cold etc?

I'm checking these issues out myself.

I had the clutch return pipe replaced when I bought the car - my clutch pedal would stay down too. After having it replaced its not as bad, but it's still sticky. More needs done here because it's a massive flaw in the RS4, other threads have gone over this here many times by the looks of it.

I'm asking for SW0090 when mine is in the dealership next month too

Was done under distance selling for me, I had bought the car unseen and they hadnt told me about this being an issue.

Since it shouldnt do this I demanded they corrected it FOC and they did.

Had clutch return pipe and the one from the cylinder replaced when my clutch stuck down. Cured it but still feels sticky. I'm going for a Sach's clutch.

We should get a petition together for this issue as it's common and get it sorted under an extended warranty - like the DRC!

This is a very dangerous issue (I couldn't get mine out of gear approaching a roundabout) that Audi should look at.

If you have Audi Extended Warranty..... purchased with vehicle.... then IT IS covered !!

mine does this occasionally when pushed hard
I'm wondering if it's contaminated fluid, it's very difficult to bleed the system, so water would accumulate lowering the boiling point
if it gets hot in the hose of slave cylinder bubbles would form and instead of an incompressible fluid you now have a compressable mix of liquid/gas
the lines run close to the exhaust and aren't insulated....perhaps some insulating wrap and a good bleed with a high temp fluid may help?

Spoke to Newcastle Audi - i asked if would be covered - said would need the car and there may be a charge to diagnose the problem - surely they cant do that if it is a warranty issue?

TPI 2012712-4 which relates to "slow return of clutch pedal".

.... but maybe just a UK number !

Spoke to Newcastle Audi - i asked if would be covered - said would need the car and there may be a charge to diagnose the problem - surely they cant do that if it is a warranty issue?

Unfortunatley they can its just in case the item is not covered under warranty and they know you have a means of payment but if covered under warranty then they wont charge you a penny.
