Matte Black wrap with black alloys?
Matte Black wrap with black alloys?
Hi Guys,
I going to buy an Audi RS4 saloon within the next month. As soon as i get the car i want to give it in to get a Matte Black vinyl wrap done. The one thing that i am stuck on at the moment is what colour to have the alloys.
I dont think the standard colour alloys will look good with a matte black finish. I was thinking maybe black chrome, but my mate said he thinks black gloss would be better!!?
Any thoughts on what would look better. I dismissed the idea of Matt Titanium because i thought it doesnt stand out against the matte black wrap!
Also i was thinking i wanted a car with the black optics but if i found one without, what would i need to change for black optics spec?

Re: Matte Black wrap with black alloys?
Personally, I dont 'get' the matt black wrap thing... so the answer on the wheels is probably "whatever YOU think will look good"
re the Black Optics, that's:- front grill surround, window trims, Roof rails (Avant only), and exhaust tips

Re the Black Optics, what kind of black is it? gloss?
Re: Matte Black wrap with black alloys?
I would go for gloss black wheels as it will go with the wrap and add a bit of shine to the stealth look

Matt black has been done to death. Try something different.
I would think very hard about getting it wrapped as some owners have had there lacquer peel off when the wrap was removed.

Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar

Have you seen the sketch on YouTube about the 'slut mobile'? oh yeah baby, go for that! :-p
IMO RS4 'confidence' is the fact it packs the punch, but you don't have to try too hard to show it

I like the polished look, I reckon it goes well with the mirrors and the roof bars

I wouldn't wrap a car again... cost me £1600 to put the paintwork back to new after I took it off

Re: Matte Black wrap with black alloys?
I remember a thread on here a few years ago where I was one of very few warning about this "hidden" cost risk of wrapping, some people didn't like my comments about the risk and the thread became quite intimidating, so it's nice to hear that my warnings were not totally without substance.klauster wrote:I wouldn't wrap a car again... cost me £1600 to put the paintwork back to new after I took it off

Re: Matte Black wrap with black alloys?
foolishly i listened to the company doing the wrapping (3 year warranty and paintwork would be protected)PetrolDave wrote:I remember a thread on here a few years ago where I was one of very few warning about this "hidden" cost risk of wrapping, some people didn't like my comments about the risk and the thread became quite intimidating, so it's nice to hear that my warnings were not totally without substance.klauster wrote:I wouldn't wrap a car again... cost me £1600 to put the paintwork back to new after I took it off
I do know people that have had wraps and had no issues at all, but i wouldn't risk it again
I did like my car in white though

Evolution of the technology; it was still relatively new then. I don't think there's as much to fear now.
Having said that I wouldn't wrap my car
