Managed to give the car a wash today at my place

And have noticed some damage!

Drivers door edging chipped, but have been I opened it against a wall or another car. The bloody BFG doors are so bloody long

Scuff to rear bumper, I recon by someone else in one of the many underground car parks. Its broken the paint, so likely respray

Also I damaged the trim when putting on the wind deflector this morning, really poor design on Audi part I think as the design of it is worse than the perfectly functional B7 deflectror

Finally noticed some scratches and stone chip to the bonnet!

So, the moral of the story, don't take your RS on a 4000 mile road trip...take your company car!

Oh hell,

I have to take it.

It's only done 900 miles in the 6 months I have owned it.
I never get chance to take it for a good run, it needs to burn some carbon.
Dread to think how bad it is in that engine, I only run to golf club and back on a Sunday. Then maybe a quick country run if the weather is nice.

I know what you mean about taking a company car, but being honest you never look after them like they are your own.
Just have to make sure you park in the right places. There is no way I'm taking the company van, 2500 miles in a Renault traffic will most certainly bring back problems.

Just be careful with your RS as iv discovered the rest of Europe isn't as well off car wise as the UK and driving a £40k A5 around is like driving a Ferarri

There is no way I'm taking the company van, 2500 miles in a Renault traffic will most certainly bring back problems.

I dunno, you'd be able to fit a load more dead prossies and backpackers into the van, ergo, far fewer unmarked grave plots. Then again, in the RS you'd arrive at the next burial location in half the time, swings and roundabouts, I guess. If it were me, I'd take the van, it'd be far less back-breaking digging per mile, or, Miles Per Grave (MPG).

Yup, the BFG is a nightmare for load space.

When I try to drop the hood it tells me there's an obstruction in the boot area preventing it from dropping

So iv had to resort to amputation

Don't panic mate, just work a sharp knife around the ligaments at the closest joint on the limb you'd like to remove, a few quick snaps in any direction and the limb should come away cleanly every time. Next time try picking shorter victims, that means shorter limbs for all you cab drivers.

Even a hitchhiking dwarf would find it uncomfortable in the back seat of RS cab with buckets.

I like the idea of limb removal, at least I might get a hand with the driving.

The van is staying at home, can't wait to hear that V8 on the Stelvio.

hello everyone !

I am now on my 2nd Ferry back over to Italy from Greece.

I left Kos last night and got a 11hr Ferry to Athens, went to the Acropolis again this morning then drove across Greece to Patras via this amazing little beach ... when I get back to the UK I'll post a video as the sat nav LITERALLY took me on the beach and I drove along the beach with the sea basically reaching the car ! .... then upon leaving there, to get back to the main road, the sat nav took us on this abandoned road that looked like you needed a Land Rover to pass, but the BFG did us proud !

The Ferry from Kos to Athens was absolute CHAOS ! How glad am i that I dont have the RS, its just a free for all trying to get on an off the Ferry and the crazy greek stewards get you so close to other cars its painful

and a dopey greek, parked in front of me in the Ferry, upon exiting and trying to get out, when nose to nose with my car and his Peuguot and then instead of selecting reverse gear bloody got 1st and bloody hit me ! low impact so no damage that I can see ... but who knows when I take the car back for inspection !

The car is fecking dirty as anything, its really dusty in Greece (top down) apparently there has been over 100 forest fires in Greece as temperatures soared ... the guage in the BFG said 40c today !

Arrive in Bari tomorrow, 10am ... we are staying in a Motel in Brescia which is 550 miles north

So a <beep> load of driving !

Then Stelvio Pass on Sunday ! woohoo

and the best bit ... I havent burnt my head !

Quick update

Landed in Italy yesterday, fecking Greek bastard ferry was 3hrs late

Then had to drive 550 miles and encountered a 2hr 50mile traffic jam

So had a 5hr delay which robbed us of all our downtime today

So had to drive for 10hrs more or less straight

Arrived in Lake Garda at 10pm for spaghetti

Just woke up and going to set off for the Stelvio Pass

That's a shame DK, we are doing Stelvio tomorrow. But we are going in opposite direction.
We are in Strasbourg today and setting off in morning.

But will just give a quick update.

We are now in some random town in Germany having driven through Austria

We desperately were trying to find somewhere to show Man Utd Arsenal and hedged all our bets on an Irish bar which upon arriving turned out to be closed on Sundays!
