Squeaky seatbelt

Post by RS4_Nick » Sun Jul 31, 2011 1:09 pm

The front passenger seatbelt in my car has started creaking every time it is worn. The sound is coming from the seatbelt clip-housing and is becoming quite irritating.
I appreciate that this could really happen in any car so I'm not suggesting this is islodated to the RS4. However, has anyone else had the same issue and what have you one about it?

I may see if I can take it off to get a good look later today.

This is a very common B6/B7 A4/S4/RS4 problem caused by the soft pad on the back face of the seatbelt clip housing wearing through or coming off and the seatbelt housing rubbing on the plastic of the centre console - replacing the soft pad cures the problem.

yup -was gonna say the same.
Cheap ass fix for a silly problem.
Try either the fluffy part of a velcro pad or one of the sticky pads you get to put on the legs of chairs to stop them scrtatching wooden floors.
