RS4 B7 Oil Leak
RS4 B7 Oil Leak
As title when i am looking at the front of the car , on the right side just behind the front bumper there is a slight oil leak - As there is a plastic cover under the engine i can not see much but could it be coming from one of the oil coolers ? Has anyone had something similar as i am starting to pannick ?

Thanks for the reply
Off to Audi tomorrow although a technician has told me it is probally an oil cooler pipe. Apparantly it is a commopn problem and Audi did modify the cooler pipes a while back .
I will post the outcome

Re: RS4 B7 Oil Leak
The modification was a cable tie to prevent rubbing

Re: RS4 B7 Oil Leak
It was to stop the braided hoses from chaffing, but not the ends of the pipes from rusting. Its this that causes the oil pipes to leak.adsgreen wrote:The modification was a cable tie to prevent rubbing
Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar
Re: RS4 B7 Oil Leak
As suspected it is an Oil cooler pipe leaking @ the bend - Audi have agreed to go 50/50 on the job but the scenario gets worse - The engineer has told me that there is a chance that when the oil pipe is replaced it could damage the Oil cooler at the fitting point so i will have to get a new Oil cooler too !! Seems a bit strange that this is down to me to sort !! Will keep the thread updated

Re: RS4 B7 Oil Leak
Oil cooler has been damaged where the oil pipe connects to it and i have been quoted £600 by dealer to replace it - A call to Audi headoffice and its all sorted Audi have agreed to pay for the Oil Cooler and go 50/50 on the Oil pipe . I think this is very fair considering the car is out of warranty and nearly 5 years old . So i still have alot of faith in the Audi brand . Just waiting for my new Rs4 now as had a deposit down for over a year !!

Re: RS4 B7 Oil Leak
I had a similar problem, it was power steering oil as the level had dropped very low:

There was no split in the pipe, the fix was to sort out some clips (photos in the above post). It has been fine since the fix in January.
