My '6 for sale (not by me)

Post by viffer » Fri May 06, 2011 7:47 pm

Hi all,

I no longer have any financial interest in this, having px-ed the car, but in case anyone is interested my C5 RS6 is for sale:

http://www.911virgin.com/porscheforsale ... uattroTip/

Good provenance. I bought it from another forum guy.
FASH. Recently all at Camberley Audi. Rob Chorley knows the car.
Recent Cambelt + water pump.
Very recent service.
Very recent tyres (Michelin PS2s)
Recent new wheels (Audi OEM x 4)
I was not shy about spending money on it, and it's in very decent condition. The interior is especially good.

I'm happy to answer any questions - PM me if you're seriously considering it. To repeat - it's not me selling, I'm just being helpful, so you'll get a 100% honest opinion.

Cheers, Richard.

The 993 is my favourite car. Last of the air-cooled hand-built porkers. I tried to get a C2S but they're like rocking horse semen, instead I sunk my money into women, alcohol and an RS6...

Nice cars. I used to have a Polar Silver one of those some years ago and then an Iris Blue Targa... Of course when we're talking 993 it's just called a Carrera Coupe... The Carrera 2 bit was actually 964 and 996 and the 993 missed this nomenclature for some reason...

Only thing I would say is that although it's a pure driving experience the 993 is a bit slow...

Are you not missing the RS6 oomph?

[sorry realised numbering error on 964 and edited to fix!]

Indeed, it's not really quick. But it's a lovely thing.

Thus far, I don't miss the power of the RS6. But this might be because I also have an M3 CSL (and a bike). The CSL is substantially quicker than the 993 and has always felt quicker than the '6 (even though on paper it's not, in a straight line).

Cheers, Richard.

Richard, Is that photo taken at the 911box dealer in Keston?

I had a Targa varioram a couple of years ago; plenty fun to drive :)

I'm starting to hate this thread... I've always wanted a 993 and now they're not getting cheaper. When I was looking a couple of years back, good ones were 25k. What are they now? I need to finish the '6 and look at these...

Luke, you need to start a thread on your build and progress, I for one would like to hear plans and how it's going!

Agreed re price!!

However although I think the 993 was special if you don't mind me saying so I much preferred the earlier G series Carrera 3.2 to the 993 in almost every way - more involving to drive, as quick in real world terms, classic looks and much much more luggage compartment space than the 964 / 993.

Not that this will help you more as they are just as expensive for a nice low miles car...

My 3.2 is the only car I wish I had NEVER sold.
