finally picked up the RS6

Post by Dipper » Wed Apr 06, 2011 1:56 pm

Seems like a good un. Just in case though ive taken out a warranty with warranty Direct(subject to inspection)

needs a few jobs doing. timing belt being the first priority. Want to get the body work back up to scratch as well. There's nothing wrong with it but its fairly gravel rashed around the front end and the rear arches so will look to get it painted. Other than that its very tidy. wheels have been refurbed, tyres are new as are the brakes

will sort some pics shortly. :beerchug:

Welcome Dipper.. you wont regret getting one, fantastic motor. Had mine 2 years now which has flown by almost as fast as the RS does to no major issues. Mines mechanically sound but increasingly in need of a respray as completely gravel rashed. Was looking into getting some protective film put on after the paint is sorted so this year it's mostly sorting the cosmetic bit out and getting it looking it's best.. Planning on getting it all done and sorted for Goodwood..
RS6 C6 - Stock atm but will be getting an MRC Stage 2 shortly

after reading about a hundred pages on here prior to buying the car i kind of knew what to expect! :bigblink: For an enthusiasts site there's a lot of doom and gloom! I'm probably still a bit niave, i'll no doubt join the doommongers shortly. in fact i think i felt some pulsing through the accelerator pedal last night! this might be the start of the slippery slope :bash:

That's just the car's intravenous money drain working it's way up through your leg to your wallet ;)

More likely, probably the infamous pedalbox vibration. Nothing terribly serious. I think grizz has a fix for it.

+1 - but there's no need to 'fix' it.

i thought pedal vibes was the first sign of the DRC playing up? It does seem a bit harsher than i would have expected. it fairly jiggles about through bumpy corners. heres me going down a bumpy road :jump:

How's it look on 18's? Got any pics? I'd imagine they improve the ride quality quite a bit? Was thinking of getting another set for winter tyres. 18's would be an option

im looking for 19 inch alloys, i like the mtm bimotos grey...
i think 19 inch look much better and fill up the wheelarches more...
0-60 is a bit quicker with 18 inch.
