True. But you've got to wonder why it's there. I would suspect it's there to prevent stress crack propogation. This is often why there are mysterious radii on load bearing components. This is also why aeroplanes have rounded windows and not square (a few planes were lost before they realised that stress cracks were forming in the corners and propogating from there).
Of course, it could just be a brain burp of the design engineer while he was in front of his CAD station. Or an overreaction to a finite element analysis. The safety margins built into the design of suspension components are generally very generous. (ahem, DRC... )
