Dectane

Post by andre3k » Mon Mar 28, 2011 4:39 pm

I've been waiting for some new designs to surface for a while for the Avant; a can't tell whether they're any different from the BM Town ones. Might be a good time to take the plunge.

At last they have some in stock! I have had a look at the RA16R red clear ones for ages and they never have any stock. I may buy some and see what they are like.

Do you mean RA16LR? Are the other avant ones on the Dectane site different to the ones you trialled from BM Town?

The Dectane Avant ones are hugely different to the BM-Town ones, for a start the indicators and brake light bulbs are LED's with Dectane, they are not with BM-Town (ordinary bulbs). BM-Town side lights are the only LED's in their units.

I did mean RA16LR, the red crystal ones. sidzz, it's a 20 minute job to install all the lamp cluster, even for a dunce like me. 1x Flat head and 1x Phillips screwdrivers are all you need.

Are the LED's bulb detection friendly?

They have resistors built into the wiring so theoretically yes.

those look pretty nice, I like the red/white
they do have the resistors and they claim to be obc friendly

who's gonna take the plunge and report back? :D

Good for you 'sedan' drivers.

I saw a set of these on YouTube last night and they look good but can't find any details on the web bar a home page for Rwerks which makes me a bit nervous.

I actually think these ones look good, keeping with OEM looks https://www.dectane.de/product_info.php ... ystal.html

As you say Graeme even better that they are full LED units as oppose to part LED part Bulb. EDIT just seen a red bulb in the back of the unit! surly its not all LED then..?

I've narrowed it down to 16SLBL and 16SLRCL, the prob is I'm not sure the pic of the 16SLBL is correct. I'm not a fan of the Litec ones

Sonny I think the pic is incorrect & doesn't apply to that unit. Maybe a pic from a previous version with LEDs and bulbs combined?

Well if it had no bulbs and fitted perfectly then I would probably consider that unit, I think smoked units look a bit chav (sorry guys who have them).
