Quick question about DRC

Post by Shoppinit » Sat Mar 26, 2011 2:47 pm

Asknig for a friend who wants an RS4. Just wondering if the incidence of DRC failure depends on whether the car has standard or sports+ suspension?

Sorry if it's already been answered a million times, but I couldn't find anything in the search.

To the best of everyone's knowledge, there is no link whatsoever between SS+ and a higher / lower incidence of failure

I don't believe that correlation has ever been established. Best just to check in the service history to see if DRC has been done or not. and you still have the 5 year / 75,000 mile cover

Cheers guys. That's pretty much what I thought.

I'm looking forward to him getting it. From what I can see they are properly sorted cars. Only problem is, it'll make me want one :D

At the risk of being flamed, anything else to look out for on the RS4 when buying? :thumbs:

Shall we do one each!

i say check auxiliary rads, make sure no steam coming out of grilles near fogs and that coolant level is good after a test drive

Thanks for that :thumbs:

On the RS6 forum, someone did a noob's buying checklist that we had made into a sticky.

Might be worth doing the same here once we get the major points to check? Avoid people asking the same dull questions that I am now?

Hey, I'm not a noob in Audi's V8... :mrgreen:
@others : I'm his friend who's looking for a RS4.

However, a checklist is a good idea. :thumbs:
