Think the best way is to get a hairdryer on them to melt the glue then prise off delicately, then some cleaning products to get the excess gunk off.

The rear should be ok with the hairdryer, not sure of the front, maybe just pop out???

I saw something somewhere about running something like dental floss behind the badge as you heat it up to slice through the adhesive when de-badging.

For the badges bonded directly to the paintwork Mac is exactly right. Heat up with a hairdryer, get some dental floss and slice through the soft adhesive. You'll then have to clear the remaining adhesive by gently scrubbing away (use some WD40/lubricant so you don't damage the paintwork).

The front RS4 badge is clipped on and you just need to lever from the front at one side of the attaching clips and it should come out. Not sure about the front audi rings though.

Be careful removing the front. Proper way is to remove the front grille. You can prise out the rings from the housing but there are 12 'sprung clips' to access which are part of the whole Audi Rings and are only made of brittle plastic. There are 3 clips on each outer ring (7 o'clock, 9 o'clock and 11 o'clock when viewed from the front) and 2 clips (6 o'clock and 12 o'clock) on the inner rings.

yes but to remove the front grille you gotta remove the bumper, and once its off you can lift on the tabs then follow the steps above... they are weak and break pretty easy. did this when i swapped out my grille... was a paint but turned out pretty well when i was done.

the front ones just unclip, undo the three screws on top of the grill and bend it towards you and you can reach the clips on the front rings, the back on just peels off but then its hard work getting the backing foam off before sticking the new one on, mark with masking tape to line up new badge exactly where old one was

I'd like to see the front and rear rings painted to match the faux aluminum trim of the grill, mirrors and windows...

I see what you mean, but I don't think the difference would be that noticeable.
