Performance Modifications

Post by Valentino85 » Sun Jan 09, 2011 6:21 am

Hey guys this is my first time joining an Audi forum and I have a few questions:

1. What's the best performing/sounding exhaust system that doesn't sound too loud or obnoxious?
2. Are chipping or cold air intake worth the money on the 4.2 as far as the results they generate?
3. Is it true that if I only add 22mm (RS4) sway bar to the rear that it will help produce more oversteer?
Thx!!! :D

Appreciate the response. Do you happen to have any opinions or recommendations of your own?

1. Milltek - go for the resonated system if it's a daily driver and you don't want the 1,200-1,800rpm drone.
2. A good remap with full exhaust (catback and sports downpipes) will see some worthwhile gains but don't expect anything too dramatic - this is a NA car.
3. Yes, the B7 RS4 sports suspension plus (22mm) sway bar makes a very noticeable difference to handling and turn in.

Well I didn't mention the JHM re-engineered inlet manifold, throttle body, and matched spacers, but this is also worth doing ;)

Thanks a lot for the input! I personally thought milltek sounded the best too out of all the ones I heard. Has anyone ever heard of carbonyl intake?

Most induction kits just make more noise. The airbox is basically the same as the RS4 so is more than capable with a decent panel filter and keeps things looking tidy
