Beware there is a thief about

Post by PMAX » Wed Jan 05, 2011 7:38 pm

Just a word of warning to owners of RS4's whilst sitting watching a film at home last night two guys attempted to break in to my house in an attempt to steal my RS4 which is always garaged so they new what they where looking for, it is a good job I have two GSD's which I think took them by surprise, so fortunatley the car and my family are still safe.

So please be extra carefull as a RS4 was stolen from Leaminghton Spa about 4 weeks ago so it would seem they are still on the wanted list.

Bad news about the attempted break-in mate.

Glad to hear your family and belongings are safe.

I was trying to work out what GSD's were though. German Shepherd Dogs?

Glad you're okay. I guess they must have been following you or watching your house to know what motor you've got if you keep the RS4 in the garage? Have the police got any leads?

Yes you are right about the GSD's (german shephard dog), I think the car was spotted whilst washing it on Sunday on the drive, as a car did slow down to have a look, but that is not to unusual or so I thought.

I heard from a Warwickshire traffic cop about this though he said it was stolen from Warwick (Leamington and Warwick are joined up).
It was a Silver (he might be wrong) Avant and headed up the M40 at 155mph in convoy with a 3.0 TDI A4 which they recovered.
They lost the RS4 around J4 M42 near Birmingham Audi.
How did you know PMAX?

Comes to something when they try and nick it out of a garage!

He also said even a chopper wont help unless it can track it from the start of the pursuit at those speeds.

This wasn't what I wanted to hear 1 day before parking my RS4 on my in-laws Warwickshire driveway overnight on Xmas day

It was in the local paper, although no detail was stated other than it had be stolen and I think you are right it was a silver one. If you thought about it to much you would think twice about going out.

Neighbor had his C6 RS6 stolen a few weeks ago at gun point.
Recovered.
A mate had a C63 taken at gunpoint, never found
West Mids police seem to be getting ontop of it now, they were useless when they tried to have my RS4

Scary <beep>.
Quite glad mine's a stealthy one, doesn't attract too much attention.

If the worst came to the worst, I think I'd just hand over the keys then call the tracker company.

PMAX do you live on a main road?
I think this has such a key part to play in thefts as if you live on a quiet road, the chances of someone seeing your car, even left on the driveway are so much lower.

I hope this situation doesn't cause you too much stress.

Haha, yeah, but has to get noticed in the first place...
No badges (front and rear), no alu mirrors, no buckets, no FBSW, no Nav, no loud Milltek.
Shame any of us need to worry about possible theft of course...
