Do Front of Rear Tyres wear fastest ?
Do Front of Rear Tyres wear fastest ?
I know I asked this before, but can't remember/search the answer ! Do the front tyres tend to wear quicker than the rears due to engine weight or do the rears wear faster due to 40/60 drive split ? Want to know which way should be rotating the tyres so they have best chance of wearing evenly.
RE: Do Front of Rear Tyres wear fastest ?
i've had mine 10 months and it had new tyres on the front when i bought it.
5mm on the rears, and now the measurements are 5mm front and 3mm rears.
so the wear on mine has beeen consistent across the 4.
i think i'll change them all at the same time this time...

Im sure i read in the manual that you should swap em round after a while to insure even wear? Nice big tyre bill at the time of replacement though.

So if the consensus is that the fronts wear slightly quicker than the rears, at what stage would you recommend swapping them over?
Just checked mine and I have 5mm rear and just under 4mm at the front. Given this it would seem that I should be swapping them around soon.
I know that 1.6 is the legal limit but do other forum members swap them over with more tread left? I have P Zeros and I am looking forward to getting them off the car. They seem to really suffer from tramlining.
Have a good Christmas all
