Envy or idiots??

Post by wrekka » Thu Dec 23, 2010 2:44 pm

Yesterday I was on the M55 towards Blackpool at about 1pm with cruise control on doing about 70, minding my own business in the inside lane. The road was rather quiet.
Suddenly, I look in the rear view mirror and see a grey BMW coming at speed in the outside lane. As approaching me he decides to swipe accross the middle lane and got so close alongside me If I had my window down I could have knocked on his passenger side window!
I sounded my horn and he sped off in front of me (it was a 320d!). He then pulled into the inside lane about half a mile infront of me and then slowed down so much that I caught him up! (i still had cruise on at 70). What was his problem? Who knows but my exit came up and I turned off.

Then today I had just been to fill the tank up for Christmas and was driving calmly on the dual carriageway near Preston (I don't always drive slow just conditions are a bit dodgy!)
Next minute, I look in the rear view mirror and there's an old Saab 9000 up my arse. He just wuldn't move away! I sped up a little bit as thought he could just be a bad driver, anyway he accelerated and sat up my arse again! I came to a round-a-bout went round slowly with him still up my arse and then was getting so peed off I just booted it away!

I used to get this all the time with the Scoob, Evo, Skyline etc, but thought may not with the RS4.

Was wondering if others had, had many similar experiences??

Your number plate's not W4 NKA or something is it?

There are some idiots out there. I can't believe how close I've seen people driving to the car in front in the ice and snow these last few days.

No nothing like that :)

But you are right with the general bad driving out there in the ice and snow!

I havn't noticed too much of that, though I've only had the car 5 months. Used to have alot of grief years ago in my sapphire cosworth.

I've found the RS 4 does attract nobheads ... Its such an agressive looking car

I can see as prices come down more and more nobheads heads owning them, but that's a good thing as a lot of examples will get battered, and our loved examples with be worth more!

Can't say i've ever had a problem with my RS4 and silly drivers. In fact, my brother-in-law mistook my RS4 for a courtesy car. LOL. I'm happy to have it look fairly anonymous.

Sounds like the BM was trying to entice you into a race and the Saab driver just wanted to ogle your car

They'd both LOVE to have what we've got !!!

sounds like idiots to me (BMW driver, what do you expect!) and some people are SO stupid driving in this weather.

doesn't happen much to me TBH, the R32 got lots more negative attention, one of the reasons i changed it.

I have had a couple of idiots behind me. Generally speaking they are BMWs but sometimes A5 coupe drivers and mainly all the time on the A1 or A14. I just pull over and let them past unless the roads are clear and i boot it

I notice a lot of rubber-neckers slowing down to have a look, even when there inthe 3rd lane.
