A surprising stat, but true. There are in total 33 RS4's (All variants) being held by dealers, I got to thinking when I was on the trader and realised that the entire last page (the most expensive saloon's) had no dealer presence at all. Do you think that the dealers have had a memo from HQ to dump as many as they can bearing in mind northwind struggled to sell his to a dealer!

maybe they know of a new Tax coming for big engined cars here in the UK, or they are beginning to feel over exposed on the 1 year approved used warranties, as DRC problems are resurfacing now on the 5 year old models (I have no evidence of any resurfacing DRC issue's, that was just an example) or other warranty repairs are too expensive?

no directive will have come from Audi UK

Main dealers typically sell used cars 1-4 years old, thats their life blood

You have to think, where does their stock come from?

- Audi UK (and partners)
- P/x
- Fleet partners
- Other dealers

Few main dealers go to auctions ... thats for the dodgy second hand car merchant

So, Audi UK no longer provide RS 4's and p/x are getting fewer and fewer, and fleet deals are typically 3yrs, so fewer of those now

Also, prep costs are higher with tyres, brakes etc and warranty

also, a good dealer will turn their stock quickly, and to that end, profile their stock appropriately .... no point stocking something that isnt going to shift quickly ... and very few MINT RS4's out there

Hopefully it's good news for those with RS4s in good condition come resale time.

A lot of 4WD vehicles generally have been sold in the last 6 weeks..... convenient excuse for some to buy an RS4!

while mine was in for a service the other week, the sales fella looked at mine and said they very rarely get hold of good examples...maybe true or just a salesmans blag.....one thing is for sure the rs4 made me move over from the m3 i had....i dont think the rs5 will have the same impact...

It's already here - the media would have heard of any new tax at the same time or sooner than Audi UK and there is nothing out there.
They can't crucify big engines any more otherwise Aston Martin, Jag, Land Rover and many other marques will be gone altogether.

I suspect the warranty cover will be the issue because Mondial will see how many claims are being made and how much profit they make and they'll see it's not enough. Silly really as nothing that major goes wrong (excluding DRC), just loads of fiddly things that add up when you go to a main dealer.

Agree, Audi UK definitely wouldn't have any advance notice of tax changes. I know a few insiders in the tax world and there are no proposed changes at the moment. Could change in the March 2011 Budget, but I doubt it as the VAT and fuel duty rises in Jan will hit the motorist hard enough.

There's 28 of us on here keeping our cars that would normally be out there for sale but keeping them as there's nothing to replace them with at the moment and their owners still love them !! It will be a disaster if they don't bring out a replacement RS4 model that is as good or hopefully better than ours !!!
Mint Optic Pack saloon in Daytona Grey (Now sold)
B7 RS4 in Sprint Blue (Gone to a very good new home)
Evo V1 (wish i'd kept)
Numerous M3s
