Sports Suspension indentification

Post by Aquanaut » Fri Nov 19, 2010 4:29 pm

Hi,

Is there anyway to be sure which suspension option an Avant has?

Is there a rough measurement from the top of the wheel to the bottom of the wheel arch...

or is it realy that simple to tell apart looking at a car on its own?

Many Thanks in advance

I know the SS+ is around 10mm lower. I've had a few dealers tell me that cars have SS+ but when I look into it they haven't.

Isn't there some kind of original spec list hidden in the boot or something

This is a good option code decoder and 2ME does indeed come up a Sports Suspension
These codes are often referred to as PR codes, something I didn't initially appreciate.
If you have ETKA the decoder can help a lot.

Thanks guys, useful knowledge.

Is the option list in the boot a plate mounted somewhere like inside the tailgate?

I may have a viewing tomorrow and the dealer doesn't know the full spec - most things seem to stand out except SS+

Data stickers are inside the front cover of the service book and in the usual place somewhere on the boot floor.
I have seen some B6 ones under the rear seat base IIRC so don't be too worried if it's not in the boot.

the options fitted are inside the front page of the service book in code form and these match a listing in the boot next to the wheel well in a saloon for sure, possible same position in the avant. There is a list of the option codes on this forum as a sticky somewhere.
