to0 good to be true 6 on fleabay

Post by hanman » Fri Nov 05, 2010 4:55 pm

just seen a mint RS6 on fleabay for peanuts.. not sure i can post links so i wont in case i get told off..

Having abosrbed everything this forum has offered up as advice in the last 2 weeks of joining i thought i would ask the current owner all the pertinent questions.. cambelt changes, gearbox servicing, DRC, coils, servicing in general, maint. & repairs etc etc...

Surprisingly, the response was that everything was up to date and perfectly sound.. nothing to worry about barring 2 new tyres..

Have i missed something? The price on this 2003 silver RS6, with low mileage is only circa £12,000.

i'm not in the market for a 6 yet BUT if anybody is interested and i cannot post the fleabay link directly here then PM and i can send it on..

here you go...

This may be an example of someone selling their car at book price but not appreciating that it also puts people off as they may think something is wrong with it...

Maybe it's got 116000 miles on the original gearbox?

I get a good vibe from it. I'd be very tempted. 116k miles is nothing for these cars.

I think I recognise that car park. I have a feeling I remember it from an advert for a black RS6 with Cognac leather about a year ago. A porker or lambo parked in proximity...

Of course, the best thing about this car is that it's got no bloody sunroof :P

erm ... its got 116k on it ... thats so far from low mileage its untrue

and whilst I totally agree 116k is nothing for these cars ... thats the one and only reason for the price ... nothing too good to be true

I know it's not the same car, however it is the same colour scheme and wheel size as this one:

And that makes me like it a lot!

Surely the gearbox has 2 years warranty if it's a brand new Audi one :?

There is a black saloon with fash, 94k, full milly and new gearbox under warranty with new coilover again under warranty for £10,995 and a silver avant on 116k with pretty much same spec for £9995 both on eBay - WTF is going on with these prices? Seem to be plummeting since I bought one (not planning on selling so don't really care) with much lower miles but for a fair bit more than these 2!
UPDATED - just checked the link and the avant on PH is the same car as on eBay - think I would buy it off eBay and save £1500???????
