Problems with VAG-COM.

Hi all

I have bought a VAG-COM cable (USB to OBD2) but I'm having trouble seting up the virtual R232 port on my laptop so I cant communicate with the car.

Is there a good procedure out there, step by step? I tried to use the instruction but I just cant get it to work.

What program do your guys use to monitor engine data?

is it a genuine cable? or cheap one of ebay?
