Small Question on boot

I just checked I have them (in the dark) - 07 saloon with auto bootlid

The round bung type ones were always on the boot. Its the long rubber bit running along the edge of the boot that seems to have been added by the repairer on the left and right of the bootlid.

right - my car has those long rubber bits as well as the bungs.

Iv just sent your pic off to my Audi Tech, so far he says he has not heard of this before. will let you know what he says.

On a side note, the spring loaded bun was added at a later date to stop the boot rubbing against the rear boot strip. so maybe its related to that.

Thanks Sonny. Has anyone got the final word on this, I dont mind the bungs to much, its the long rubber piece on the boot edge that doesn't seem right to me. I will hopefully get hold of the garage manager this afternoon to tell him what I think should be changed or removed.
