Don't blame the brand for one main dealer's inefficiency, you'll be missing out on a great car[/quote]

Most certainly.

+2

All manufacturers have some poor/bad dealers, all you have to do is find a good dealer (which is why the thread asking owners to recommend dealers was started recently) and then enjoy a great car.

Threads like this only serve to illustrate how important a dealer is in the process of buying a car....

We're talking big bucks at stake here for making sure all the "i's are dotted" and the "t's are crossed" and kissing some ass...

I'd echo the sentiments expressed so far though...who is to say you won't come across a sketchy Porsche dealer?

If you can detach yourself emotionally from the whole process and critically assess the health of the car, I'd stick with whatever the outcome of that process is.

I've had to do similar recently myself.

Perhaps an AA inspection might give you some peace of mind as an independent opinion?

That said, it sounds like the dealer is just incompetent, as I mentioned previously. The fact they have offered you a refund suggests some contrition on their part...

That said, if you continue with ownership, these cars really need oil every 5000 miles if you do the analysis.

Good luck.
