New Owner.....

Post by edge » Fri Aug 13, 2010 3:58 pm

So I bring the Evo8 back to the garage that I bought her from for the usual regular service, I pull up outside and there's a 07 B7 RS4 sitting outside. I have a quick look around and loved how it looked. I know they were nice, but until I saw it in person.....wow. Phantom black usual silver trim and all the extras including sun roof.

For me my EVO was pure class on the road, it was heavily tuned and at one stage was putting out 402bhp. This was then downed to 350bhp for daily driving and less strain on the engine. I loved the raw power and how it handled. The stigma attached to it was the only downfall to be honest.

After thinking bout the RS4 for a while I had to test drive it and loved it. I decided to hold off on it for a few weeks and really think about it. I rang the garage and ask to drive it again, I borrowed it for 2 days and decided it was time to look into it seriously, I did some serious history on the car and made an offer. This was shot down and I walked away.

I decided to sell the Evo my self and pick up a '06 RS4 model instead, I test drove 2 more and had my eye on one in Grey (my second choice color)!

But with the EVO and private sale, I was going to kill the next 20 year old who wanted to ''take it for a little spin'' before they would make an offer.

To cut along story short, I ended up making another call to the garage, upped my offer and after a bit of banter it was accepted! Usual 12 month warranty, full service and new tires all round and it was ready to go. I collected her last week and have put 180 SUPER HAPPY miles on her!

So far I have had no issues with the car, its been a dream. It 10 times smother than the EVO, feels way more powerful and solid on the road. The Evo rally sound was nice (some may disagree), but the V8 is pure class in sports mode.

I have yet to truly put it through its paces....just kinda getting a full feel for the car still!

Pics to follow and full report....

well done and welcome to the fold. You will find the RS4 to be much more discrete than the Evo, but it will still turn the heads of those that know what it is! Its a really solid car and really good fun to own / drive. Its very sure footed and even on tight twisty B roads its incredible. enjoy!

Im a new owner too for two weeks now. 07 RS4 Avant black 15,000 miles with Those great RS seats! black optics pack and SS+.

Its really is the most stable car I have ever owned. Sounds great, and thanks to the 1st owner (im the 2nd) fitted most extras going!
The only downer is the £oad tax and the fuel it likes, but if you go easy seems to be 22-24 a gallon, makes up for those single figure moments

I have been buying M3s for the last 15 years and feel this is more special.

Look forward to seeing others pictures and will do some of my own, but every one on here knows what they look like lol !!

Black with optics and SS+. That sounds like a former owners car on here? Anyway, welcome to the forum both of you, as has been previously said they are special cars and that engine note is to die for.

Enjoy.
