Paramedic knocked down by car thief
(UKPA) – 4 days ago

A paramedic was knocked down by a thief who stole his car and drove at him as the emergency worker was tending to road crash victims.

The unnamed medic who works for the Northwest Ambulance Service was helping at the scene of a crash in Birkenhead, Merseyside, at 10.40am on July 28.

Seeing the thief get into his Audi RS4 the paramedic stood in front of it to try to stop the man driving off.

But the thief accelerated at him and away from the junction of Woodchurch Road and Balls Road East.

The paramedic was hit by the corner of the bonnet and the offside wing mirror and fell into the road. He was left with grazing to his left elbow.

Could that be the same one as text from Arthur's says;
"The Audi was later recovered with all its contents but without its keys near the Shrewsbury Arms pub in Oxton Village"

The London old bill have a black unmarked saloon, apparently sourced from a local drug dealer by the proceeds of crime act.

I've seen this exact one. It's a sprint blue avant. Remember pulling up alongside it at some lights near my house, then saw the very discreet light bar across the back of the headrests.

Presumed it was an unmarked police car at the time.

I guess the guy must have left he keys in the ignition.

Blimey, Northumbria Paramedics only had Focus Diesels and Volvo's or Skoda Octavia's at best!

I was told by the old bill that came round when they tried to nick mine that they were 'investing' in 2 RS4's purely for pursuit. They were going to be based somewhere around the Staines area. Thieves beware!!!!

WOW!

I thought the fastest Police car used was Evo FQ300's. Which an RS4 can outrun. Not that I would try, I'd sh*t myself and pull over :-)

Humberside have a IS-F, Evo X 360, BMW 330i (carries a dog in a modified back seat). A friend who works at Hull Audi told me they had some S3's as well, but I've never seen them.

I should read the article next time. The local news said it all happened in shrewsbury. It sad that paramedic's have to worry about their cars while looking after the public. Wonder what the theiving gits would say if they were in need of medical help and no one could get to them due to this?

welcome to the world of the crack addict (isn't crack a US import? It doesn't get pulses racing as much of some of your posts though Arthur :P )
It's also common for fire crews and paramedics to be pelted with stones in certain areas which is even more unfathomable

We did some work on ex RAC or AA VW T5 van and it had system fitted which allowed the engine to run without the keys in the ignition to prevent theft - I think steering lock would come on or if moved engine would cut out.

cocaine (and free base) is from South America
and that's probably where the UK supply is coming from...just like ours...
pretty sure they wouldn't risk customs any more than necessary...

Columbia into the US
out of the US
into the UK

vs

Columbia into the UK

I wouldn't know how it makes one feel ;
