what an awesome car!!

Post by psg001 » Tue Jun 01, 2010 2:27 pm

went on a relaxing long weekend away on the border of wales with my girlfriend, took the RS4 of course and have to say it was sensational. comfortable on the cruise down some nice twisty A roads, and when some truly brilliant twisty B roads emerged it despatched them with ease and I had a huge grin on my face and was immensely satisfied with the car. I couldn't believe how well it handled very narrow twisty roads at speed, this with a stock suspension set up too. also wasn't hanging around anywhere, when I did need to go into economy mode for the last 50 miles home it managed 26mpg and did 320 miles to the tank with 4 litres left in reserve. outstanding

she likes it and had no complaints when i was giving it the beans.

actually she claims not to be into cars much but was begging for a drive of it about a month ago around wales, so i let her and she did pretty well for a mini one driver.

Shot a funny video of her driving it and posted it on my facebook, got a lot of attention!!!

My wife loves the RS4. She says out of all the cars we've had it's her favourite. The more I think about it, she does more miles in it than I do!

Previous cars: M3 CSL, M5 (E60), M5 (E39), Z4M Coupe, 993 Turbo, Caterham, Elise S1 (heavily modified), Elise S2, S4 (B5), Golf R32 (mk5), Boxster S, 350Z, Mini JCW 210, and many more................

on about 1000 miles now. Drives well, engine is nice and smooth, no problems or misfires etc...

power is good, feels as strong as before (and yes I have been pushing it pretty hard!), still mated to the milltek non-res so sounds fantastic too.

993 turbo chris, those were really nice and so fast!

Odd, my Mrs cannot stand the RS4. Does not like the seats, the way it drives. Its got to the point she will not dive it.....

Result! Wouldn't let SWMO near the keys of mine (unless it's an emergency or I'm T&E :beerchug: )

Take it from me, separate cars. She has hers & I have mine. Best way to keep the relationship on an even keel.

Her ladyship much prefers her Tiguan to the RS4 with it's 'stupid seats' and 'too much power' ;-)

Out of all the cars I've had, I probably miss the CSL the most. I've considered buying another one. My wife hated it though. She found it a violent experience as a passenger and she was unable to drive it smoothly. Not fun kangarooing around town with brakes that squeal louder than a bus all the time. Awsome on track. A much better track car than an RS4 but that's probably not surprising as the CSL is a very focused car. The RS4 is a much better road car. The CSL noise is intoxicating with that special carbon airbox!

The 993 Turbo was seriously quick. Last of the aircooled 911's with twin turbos and 4WD. I ended up selling it as it had too much grip and it became less fun to drive. Awsome car though.

Agree with you thee. the CSL on a full chat fly by sounds immense (I was observing a few of them at Brunchenn spectator point).
