thanks for the reply mate,
what size are you using?
what size are you using?
RE: tyre brand and sizes
225/35/19 I think. I had Toyo T1Rs and Falken FK452s before and the Vreds are so much better all round

Until now I have been using the Continental sports contacts II. A good tyre with lots of grip and good feel, but very soft. The fronts have only lasted 10,000 miles of normal driving.
I have just changed the fronts to a Hankook Ventus Evo 12 (extra load), which were slightly cheaper than the contis. They seem to be pretty good with good dry grip and better wet grip than the contis, but maybe slightly less road feel in my opinion.
I have not had them long enough to comment on any wear issues but I will post the results and comments as I find out.
I have been told the Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas are a good tyre. Might try them next!

Hi mate,
my S4 wears the Vreds now, and I'm really pleased with them so far. Grip and noise levels are both very good. Wet grip is especially good, and the tread pattern looks cool too!! Apart from the cheap and nasty tyres that were fitted when I bought the car, these are the only tyres I know, so I can't really compare them to any others.
One important thing to note is that the S4 requires XL rated tyres. The Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas are XL rated. They're £100 a corner from camskill.
I did a load of research before I got my tyres, and I'm happy that I've got a bloody good tyre for the money. Like I said, I can't compare with other more expensive tyres, but I'm not sure if they could be better enough to warrant the total extra cost.
Check out a very similar thread on Tyresmoke here, where I posted a Powercar magazine review, in which the Vreds came out on top.

Hi,
I'm on my second set of Michelin PS2. I was using Continental's before that. The Conti's wore out far too fast - I was getting 5-7K from a set. They were a soft compound and gripped well.
The PS2's are a very good compromise. Almost as good as the Conti's but last 3 times longer - now that's a bargain.
I do try to drift most corners and every roundabout

Started with Contis and managed 10k miles from the front (at best). Switched to Goodyear Assymetrics 3 years ago and definitely get better life (12k+ from the front, 17k from the rear). They're not so grippy as the Contis but I've never experienced any problems so they make a good compromise.
As others have said make sure they are 95/XL/reinforced. Anything less and you've got problems - speaking from experience!!
