Can anyone tell me where my key operated switch is to immobilise the passenger airbag. I have been looking for it today because my DTC is showing that as a possible fault. I have looked in the glovebox and around the passenger door but I am unable to locate it. I'm sure I have got one because when I bought the car it was immobilised and I had to switch it back on as far as I remember. I am wondering if it has been pushed/fell into the dash and is causing the fault light.
My plan was to turn it off to see if that cleared the fault. I have looked in the handbook and it shows it in the glovebox next to the CD changer but mine has the CD changer in the head unit.
Is there anywhere else it could be????

RE: Airbag immobiliser location
Possibly not much help to you, but in my B6 the switch is inside the glove box, on the right hand side. And I do have the CD changer in there. It's actually mounted clear of the changer and storage area on the vertical face hidden by the glove box lid. And it's key operated.

I had another look last night but still can't find it. I am wondering if I have actually got one. I'm sure I had already switched it on but maybe that was on a hire car that I had to switch it on.
Was it an option or should every S4 have a switch??
This is the DTC I am getting.

Also got a code 01794.
I've spent the last few hours online investigating this prob and I am finding out that because the battery was flat there is a problem with the Airbag controller, immobiliser, dash (must be why it changed to German) or something not recognising my VIN number and kicking out a fault due to this. I have read that you need to make it re-learn but I have not found out the procedure to do this. I know it would be through Vag-com.
Can anyone shed any light on this, not loving driving with out Airbags.

Try these links mate, there's a section in each which outlines how to make the airbags learn the VIN. I think it's the first link (for airbag 8.4, as that's what your VAG COM seems to say above) but I've included both in case:
Airbag 8.4
Airbag 9.41
Hope this helps
